Or perhaps seeking to import AZ vaccine from India. If the UK has enough of the vaccine, why are we not catching up on the numbers of second jabs?
That was supposed to be an emergency action only

Pfizer has had difficulties and delayed shipments..but they have been upfront about them. Moderna is supplying the vast majority of their product to the USA... only 1% of our people got the Moderna to date. AZ has been both tardy and evasive. J&J have been upfront and said that they are only shipping small quantities to Europe..again a US Product, paid for by Warpspeed . The Moderna, the J&J AND the AZ benefited from Project Warpspeed funding, .the Pfizer , not at all..Well
Well tough, you, ve upset me. You thought bike was crap, you, ve got an unused one somewhere, I, m supplying the folk I like, who came months before you and who insisted on having a clause that said "I must supply them" in it. Go elsewhere.
Proof of pudding. EU hasn't got enough. UK has. EU blame somebody else. Why should AZ single out EU and not meet contract? Why should Moderna do same? Even you can see where this is going.
But support EU taking them to court. It will be too late by then. Imagine EU court sitting to decide on this. We, ll all be dead of old age.
And I wasn't waving any flags at all. We don't need to on this aspect. EU has proved it is incapable of organising Vaccine roll out. You simply want to blame companies, which as usual makes no sense. Why should AZ, and now Moderna, single out EU for poor deliveries.
Danidl
What have AZ got to benefit by slowing delivery down. Nothing. Its simply poor planning, contracts and policies from EU. And normal that they and all the indoctrinated look to blame others.
No I am not. I, m not claiming anything. I, m telling you the delays in supply, the anti AZ vaccine feeling in EU, the shambles over EU roll out in EU is purely the responsibility of EU and certain EU countries.Pfizer has had difficulties and delayed shipments..but they have been upfront about them. Of course AZ are not deliberately playing silly. But you are in claiming again and again that the EU is anti UK.
I apologize..,It was not your claim but your alter ego Jhc who said ."..The AZ being the second best vaccine nonsense is a myth perpetuated by the EU because they view that vaccine as being a British product. It’s as simple and as stupid that.". And it was to him,her ir it, I was initially responding...N

AZ have no benefit at all by delaying delivery. Its a simple matter of supplying those who ordered early, paid a higher price and tied them to more restrictive contracts.
EU ordered late, didn't have strict penalties in contracts and (as explained 3 times now) are only contracted to "try" and meet delivery schedules. With UK they are contracted "to supply" to delivery schedules. Its not complicated Danid.
You order later, you receive goods later.
You do have to stand in a queue just as at Butchers. It's all explained. How many times Danidl. You might get approval from OG over your reluctance to accept reality,he does it purely because you disagree with me. The entire remainder of civilisation( except Von Leyen) accept if you order late, pay less, have fools negotiate contracts and then decry the product you will get the product late. Fact.
Its not AZ's fault. Its not UK's fault. Its the EU and the EU countries faults for putting faith in EU to deliver vaccines. There are lots of EU countries now going alone and actually buying (hopefully buying, because they are only just ordering) the Sputnik vaccine from Russia and I believe the Sinovac one from China.
No problem. I actually posted saying AZ had contributed to early confusion and not helped situation. Good of you to respond tho.Thankyou.I apologize..,It was not your claim but your alter ego Jhc who said ."..The AZ being the second best vaccine nonsense is a myth perpetuated by the EU because they view that vaccine as being a British product. god, my dear fellow forumites, we live in an increasingly mad world. Twitter, bitcoin, a pandemic with its many layers of lies. Other than the fact that everyone including the zombie of Oswald Moseley knows AZ isnt british, how many alter egos do we need in one thread? On another note, sorry for not getting back to you before zlatan, unlike you happy retired sods I have a full time day job that keeps me occupiedI apologize..,It was not your claim but your alter ego Jhc who said ."..The AZ being the second best vaccine nonsense is a myth perpetuated by the EU because they view that vaccine as being a British product. If there is a population of one, it takes 30 sections to give a vaccination to 100% of the population. If there’s 60 million people in the population, it takes a while longerExcept .. even with our problems of supply, we have vaccinated a greater percentage of our population than the UK. Just quit the sham bit about efficacy of the Pfizer beyond 3 weeks. The Pfizer protocol specific gives a duration. The AZ may be OK at 12weeks.
And UK has administered just under 24.5 million jabs. 1st and 2nd combined) I believe that's approaching 40% of reqd targeted group. That could be 20% if we had chosen to go down down short delay. Thing to remember is UK made the choice to extend delay. It was not a necessity. A choice. Nearest similar EU country to UK is Germany on 8% single jab. Numbers speak for themselves. If there is a population of one, it takes 30 sections to give a vaccination to 100% of the population. Do you have one of these strange watches that the tech companies like Apple are touting now?If there is a population of one, it takes 30 sections to give a vaccination to 100% of the population. If there’s 60 million people in the population, it takes a while longer
I’ve got an Apple Watch if that’s what you mean. It’s ace as a smart watch, but absolute shite as a sports watch. Garmin have the sports market nailed.Do you have one of these strange watches that the tech companies like Apple are touting now?
How long is 60 million sections?
.
Had The UK properly vaccinated 12.4 M , I would be applauding them , had they continued to defer to the 12 weeks for whatever fraction of the UK population which has the AZ, I would be saying fair play. but I am extremely apprehensive about the holding off of the Pfizer .And UK has administered just under 24.5 million jabs. 1st and 2nd combined) I believe that's approaching 40% of reqd targeted group. For some unknown reason we have got this right. Perhaps luck, perhaps good contracts, perhaps Hancock, perhaps Kate Bingham.. It doesn't really matter why but they just have. Realising that is not flag waving it's seeing things as they are. Just short of 23 million folk single jabs by end of today. Incredible. I didn't think they were capable of it.

And on this point I fully agree!Had The UK properly vaccinated 12.4 M , I would be applauding them , had they continued to defer to the 12 weeks for whatever fraction of the UK population which has the AZ, I would be saying fair play. but I am extremely apprehensive about the holding off of the Pfizer .
As it is Ireland with a population of 4.6M, has single dosed 373K, or 8% of the population and fully vaccinated 150K, or 3.1%, the global average is 0.9%, The UK is at 1.8% of fully vaccinated and 33% with a single jab.
Now that is a swindle that somehow reminds me of the Leave propaganda and Brexit!Chris Grayling has been trying his hand at commodities trading now that he has some time on his hands read the story here.

Is that why this statement was madeIf there is a population of one, it takes 30 sections to give a vaccination to 100% of the population. If there’s 60 million people in the population, it takes a while longer
I honestly think your concerns are over nothing. There is no doubt the delay was / is a partial step into the unknown. But I’m convinced that the risks and the benefits have been properly weighed up and the correct decisions made on this occasion. The U.K. has made enough mistakes so far during this crisis, we are overdue a correct decision and I think vaccination delivery is it, thankfully.Had The UK properly vaccinated 12.4 M , I would be applauding them , had they continued to defer to the 12 weeks for whatever fraction of the UK population which has the AZ, I would be saying fair play. but I am extremely apprehensive about the holding off of the Pfizer .
