Last Thursday I posted local vaccination figures which included health & social care staff at 99.5%. Yet today Hancock reports:

The health secretary said 80% of NHS staff received jabs, compared with 90% of those in top four age groups
It shows what I've always known, that none of the figures government give us are to be believed without question. They make them up all the time to fit whatever their agenda of the moment is.

Mate of mine had to pass through China on the way back from Sydney > UK on an Aussie postie bike.

So > China > Kyrgyzstan > Kazakhstan > Russia > Ukraine, Poland, Germany & Belgium etc..

That was before Russia's incursion into Ukraine so a detour round there now is required.
I'd probably avoid Belarus - and the Arctic, so Estonia/Latvia or Georgia/Azerbaijan. Or avoid Russia and come via Iran.

How much does diesel cost across Russia?

Thankfully there have not been many (so far) cases like this lady from Scotland who has caught Covid twice.
Covid: Ardrossan care worker caught virus twice and fears it could happen again - BBC News
Given the advice such as not consuming alcohol within some time of having a vaccination, due to its impact on developing immunity, could doing so affect the immunity from illness as well? Seems entirely sensible to consider that a possibility.

(Not for one moment pointing my finger at the poor person and suggesting she join AA immediately.)

Lovely - England only...

Covid: almost 2m more people in England will be asked to shield

New modelling identifies more higher-risk adults, of which 800,000 will be offered priority vaccination

That wonderful test and trace - world beating, of course:

Thousands of UK Amazon workers given false Covid test results
Exclusive: officials say the employees tested negatively but were sent notifications telling them to self-isolate
Thousands of Amazon workers received the wrong Coronavirus test results after a mistake meant they were given inaccurate information by test and trace.

The Guardian understands that 3,853 staff members at the online retailer received an erroneous result. Officials said they had tested negatively but received notifications to say they had tested positive and asking them to self-isolate.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) said it had been resolved in a day but those working for the “world-beating” service that tracks down those who may have been infected with the virus said they were still dealing with the fallout.

No doubt some pal of Cummings bought the tests and didn't realise his honest mates had been collecting used ones...
And to think it cost £20 plus Billion for the non operative test and trace app, and only just over £15.6 billion to dig the channel tunnel.
And here are more fun and games
Travellers in quarantine hotels face an additional £1,200 bill if they test positive for coronavirus during their stay, it has emerged. The fee is on top of the £1,750 fee for entering the programme and will apply to guests required to extend their stay beyond the initial 11 nights. Information about the £152 daily cost of longer stays was only published on the Government's website on Monday, after some guests had already checked in.

I'm going to try to put a positive slant on this...

They will be offered a priority vaccination, unless of course they are dead already, but at least they didn't have the chance to worry about it more than anyone else

There should be collaboration across the U.K. to deal with Covid. The current situation of the four nations all doing different things is stupid.
There is surely a moral there somewhere...... :D
The problem is Boris and his gang, the other nations may be struggling, but they sure as hell don't want him to "help" having seen what the cost of doing that has turned out to be

They can't legally make them pay it. Since they were not told beforehand all the guest has to is say, "Ok, I'll just check out and leave". Then the government will have no option other than to let them leave or foot the bill.
.
Being positive again..
Perhaps the best plan is to apply for citizenship of wherever your holiday happened to be?
It's probably cheaper! :D

Been looking into this new category
"The new model combines factors including underlying conditions, age, sex, ethnicity, body mass index and the postcode where people live and its link with deprivation. "

By heck it's going to be a rush round here in Hull:D

Of course there should!

We saw Drakeford and Sturgeon both going ahead separately to England - not because they hadn't tried to collaborate, but England (Johnson, effectively) refused.
