The scientist behind the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine says that the time between the first and second dose should not be longer than six weeks.

BioNTech chief executive Professor Ugur Sahin was responding to the UK's decision to delay the second dose by up to 12 weeks to allow more people to get a first dose quickly.

"should" Implies Imperative.
I'd have expected "must" (or "shall") for imperative.

Contrast: You should vote in the local elections. vs. You must vote in the local elections.

"Should" is justified by there being consequences of not voting - such as the (potential) electorate not getting the people they wish elected. Advisory, guiding, informing.

"Must" would imply an imperative though for various possible reasons including it being made mandatory to vote as well as a stronger remonstrance as to the implications of not so doing.

Difference in degree .. " must" includes compulsion and punishment. "Should "is instruction but without mandatory punishment. "Might" and may are wholly optional.
Eg. I should take daily excercise. If I want to remain healthy I must take my daily anticoagulant or I die in a week, and I may eat chocolate in moderation,if I want to enjoy this life

"should" Implies Imperative.,not choice , not fashion , not spin . Me I like to go with the experts , and in this case I see the designer and then the qualifying authority as the experts
"Should" was as far as he dared go without being censured by a big customer:cool:

Here's an interesting development

French authority recommends single Covid shot for those previously infected
The French health authority Haute Autorite de Sante has recommended that only a single shot of Covid vaccine should be administered to people who had been previously infected.
The HAS said in a statement that people previously infected retain an immune memory that calls for only a single dose, adding: “The single dose of vaccine will act as a reminder”.

That is very interesting... And is very consistent with the 2 jabs policy.

I was wondering (think I asked on here) if an infection post 1st jab would constitute for 2nd jab. Seems it probably would.
Daughter out of quarantine today, her husband tomorrow. Kids totally unaffected.. Said she has had no symptoms at all last 5 days and not much before that.. (tiredness, slight sore throat, no temperature, no head aches or loss of taste smell..??)
And just back from vaccination centre, wife has just had jab. Seemed to me average age of recipients was around 30?? No idea what's going on..?!!

Could there be significant number of healthcare and care home staff?
Possibly but didn't look like it... Wife was eldest there, asked if they have any left tonight could they jab me. Giving me a ring.. The place was well organised but I, m afraid I, ve come to conclusion I don't like people.
Some were complaining about parking, some about waiting and one young lady playing the dying Swan routine, with her dad running about like a blue arsed fly. After 10 minutes, with nurses ignoring her she said to dad, I feel fine now let's hurry back to watch the Chase... I kid you not. (I stood outside but all in earshot, with doors wide open)
