Jabs here following about the expected course. I'm 74 and have just had an invite, booked for 2nd Feb. About a mile away (3 GP practices got together, so not quite as close as my own GP), very pleasant e-bike ride.

Any hope it will immunise me from having to do tax returns?
Great news. Get your vaccination and let’s keep this phenomenal progress on a roll. We have got some capable people in this country who can get things done, it’s just a shame none of them are in government.

Coming to their senses.. Good when organisations can change direction..
Well done EU..
Credit where credit due..
Zlatan... I cannot find any EU official statement that they were planning on implementing this , . There was no logic behind it in any event. All the statements I find are from newspaper sites and making reference to talking heads and political leaders in the UK and Ireland saying it is a bad idea.. I think they are being charitable and bonkers is what it was. So I am suspecting that it was at most a kite flying excercise and more likely a rumour that grew wings on a dull Friday. There is a n EU communique about export restrictions until March, but there is zero reference to NI.
Ireland has a major Pharma Industry, but is not in the manufacturing of this vaccine, so how and why it would be a backdoor is crazy. We have the manufacturing capacity and make plenty of other drugs. Pfizer does have plants in Ireland, and some of their specialist IT subcontractors are involved in the QA systems in Belgium, and Pfizer s Irish plants did some of the measurements in the setting up, but we are not packaging ir making it here.

They’re all the same, they can’t help themselves :D:D:D:D It’s just a certain gentlemen from Hull pretends it’s uniquely a Tory problem.
You really should try reading my posts, and even with luck understanding them, look at my comments on the corruption of the major parties by donations from "Friends of Israel"
But don't let facts stop a good rant
Words are cheap.
Hence Brexit 'eh? o_O

Does that include the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine made on Belgium? Remember at Crimbo it was caught up at the channel ports.

The U.K. has backed so many winners when it comes to vaccine, I don’t think it makes any difference. The U.K. will have a huge surplus of effective vaccine and the plan is to give that surplus to developing & poorer nations.

The EU needs to learn that this isn’t a football match. One team can’t win, the whole world has to win. It’s the human population of Earth v The virus, so on this occasion the EU needs to bury its treacherous infantile tendencies and crack on.

I see that the place we gave to those fleeing terror and tyranny in their home country and arriving in the U.K. after passing through multiple other safe countries, has been set on fire by those fleeing terror and tyranny. They have actually set fire to the refuge that U.K. tax payers gave to them.

They are BLAME ing it on Coronavirus. Apparently the virus made them do it. If they stayed in their rooms like the rest of us are having to do it wouldn’t spread. But no, they want to mix and mingle and guess what?

So thanks for burning down the refuge they have been given, but it’s not really how civilised people go about endearing themselves to those trying to help them. Could you imagine if my house flooded and a neighbour put me up for the night to help out, and then I burnt his house down the next day as a thank you?

This “asylum seeker” incident is unbelievable and it’s an act carried out by people with an attitude which amounts to little more than primitive savagery. Of course, the reality is that these people aren’t asylum seeking, they are scrounging chancers out to bleed dry whatever they can get their paws on.

I hope Fat-Arse makes these ungrateful savages remain in the place they have now created for themselves.

Thought this had been revoked??
Came up as live feed news??? Something wrong, its from yesterday.??? (Info for Danidl)
I think the EU has seen sense and realised how stupid, inward looking, nationalistic, infantile and hypocritical they were being. They’ve backed down.

I find it quite amazing. We look back and think how stupid governments were in 1914 going to war and then having to step up armaments production. They had severe shell shortages... Then over a hundred years later we get a vaccine and then start putting in place all the systems we could have had organised months ago. Production facilities being closed to build bigger ones is utter stupidity. Not having practised logistics and massive production facilities in place prior to authorisation is criminal.
UK hasn't been perfect by any means but just not as bad as EU.. Every major nation should be ashamed of not being able to match Israel. It is simply not good enough.

I see tiny little French President Mr Micron is spreading false information about the Oxford vaccine now. This will undermine confidence at a time when we need maximum take up. How can this be helpful to the global war on Covid?

Hopefully, people will see this as typical “French.” Or to put it another way, a devious, oily and treacherous act of desperation by a intrinsically cowardly nation. A nation steeped in shame & defeat. As always, the U.K. will be there to help the French overcome their inadequacy and discharge that duty with fairness.

It's all very odd, obviously a very wrong decision, I have been trying to track down who actually made the statement that this article 16 was being invoked....nothing on the EU website and nothing but newspaper references revealed by a google search.
Anyone else had better luck tracing the source?

Of and by the bye

Just a small point the EU doesn't control the companies that manufacture the Vaccine any more than we do the ones here.
I'm not sure the Palestinians would be as fulsome in praise of Israel as you are.
Even the Times of Israel carried this

As I tried to find out .. I think it was someone adding inferences on supposition and creating conspiracy. The official EU communique makes no reference. And finally in a clarification yesterday evening ..in a briefing note to Simon Coveney , the EU says the NI Protocol was not affected.
