Brexit, for once some facts.

.Its none of our business, how a State conducts an election , provided it is consistent with their law.
No, it has to be consistent with the U.S. Constitution, not "their" law.

`Texas argued these four states violated the US Constitution because they made changes to voting rules and procedures through the courts or through executive actions. But these states did not make the changes through the state legislatures as spelled out in the US Constitution. `

Our buffoon made quite an impression on at least one MEP

I would like to think this is fictional, but on the basis of his previous form it's more likely Johnson has done Putin proud again .
Trouble with this sort of thing, it is so believable. I can almost perfectly imagine him behaving like that.

Confirmation, corroboration, proof, would be much appreciated. Or the opposite, of course.

And just what does the red ink area look like?

They use the word "laptop" loosely. He abandoned the laptop in a repair shop, so the laptop and all the data on it became the property of the shop owner. He cloned the hard drives, gave one to the FBI and one to Giuliani. I think I heard that he made several copies, so there must be others somewhere. Some of the data on them has been distributed across the internet, and you can find it if you know how/where. I've seen some of it, and it's very damning.
There is a question as to whether the data became the property of the repairer.
In the event of non-payment the repairer has the right to recover costs by selling the repaired goods but not necessarily the data thereon, which remains private to its owner.
An ethical repairer would wipe the hard drive, sell the laptop and move on.
Instead the repairer chose to make copies of the data, presumably without witnesses or official oversight.
I suspect the possibility that this data could be deemed to have been obtained by theft and also manipulated is why the various platforms have been reluctant to permit discussion about it.

Is he stupid and ignorant enough ever to have expected, or even hoped for, direct talks?

And, by calling the outcome "wonderful", he betrays us all.

has put Britain on course for a no-deal Brexit, claiming it is now “very likely”, as it emerged that Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel have flatly rejected his appeal for direct talks.

In a pointed toughening up of his language, the prime minister claimed Britain was on a path to leaving the single market and customs union without any trade or security agreement, describing it as a potentially “wonderful” outcome.

That is the assertion. The counter assertion is No. States make their OWN rules . It might be difficult to understand ,but this concept of States Rights is as ingrained in the US psyche as Monarchy is in yours. The term is Federalist and Federalism. The incredible irony is that it is Texas, the most States Rights , State, which is arguing against its heritage.

Whatever that means. . We tend to have them on doors
A knob can indeed be an item of door furniture. It can also be used to refer to the male genitalia.

There is also a third meaning, an obnoxious person, someone who is highly objectionable, an odious bore, annoying due to being a show-off or attracting undue attention to oneself. For example, an obnoxious little brat would behave like a knob. Are you getting the idea?

It’s also possible to be a knob-head. A dick-head is an alternative, but has the same meaning.

When I said, “You’re such a knob” you need only concern yourself with the third definition listed, not the male genitalia or door furniture.

Now stop being a knob.

As I said we have them as door and furniture fittings. We have also a range of nouns to describe human anatomy. Failure to use the correct terminology demonstrates a defective education.

And a fourth: Female nipple.

And a fifth: A word referring to two or more American's travelling outside of their home country.

If it's truly a problem then why wasn't the case made earlier, rather than after the election

You have not absorbed the lesson on knobs. You are still being a knob. Stop it.

Shades of cod wars.

Four navy ships to help protect fishing waters in case of no-deal Brexit
Exclusive: two vessels to be deployed at sea with two on standby in case EU fishing boats enter EEZ

Hope they are in rather better condition for sailing then HMS Prince of Wales. After all, with 17,819km of mainland coastline to patrol, they will have to achieve amazing speed and reliability in all weathers.

How on earth they kept a straight face when the Tweedle twins turned up to charm them....

I suggest looking towards the frumious bandersnatch.

If you want twins, rather than the Tweedles, the Thomson twins are far more ept than Johnson, despite being the poster kids for ineptitude. Far smarter sartorially and intellectually. Far more entertaining.

drug deaths in Scotland: 1,187 in the whole of 2018
It's a big problem but that's less than 3 days of Covid deaths in the whole of UK.
