Brexit, for once some facts.

There's quite a good analysis in this video. Robert Barnes is a walking (sitting) encyclopaedia. He seems to know everything that ever happened in history. he explains all the options and scenarios that might play out moving forward. You can skip to 8:30 where the main analysis starts. The Viva Frei guy is a bit partisan, but Barnes isn't. He's like a machine, just spewing out facts and laws. He's a top lawyer specialising in tax and banking fraud. He certainly seems to know what all the bad guys are up to on both sides.

They sound a lot like all the remainers after they lost the Brexit vote 2016!

Blame anything but their own crappy campaign! It's the Russians! It's Cambridge analytica! They lied to us!!

Biden's won. Get used to it.

Trump will fail anyway. The State courts wouldn't dare rule that counting must stop and the Supreme Court cannot and will never make such a ruling, bringing itself and the USA into disrepute.

Trump in his megalomania is either too stupid to see that or simply doesn't care about harming his country just to get his more stupid supporters agreeing with him that they were cheated.
.
Trump has to create a way to save face. This is his way. He can now forever say I did not lose the election it was stolen.

The problem with that being, it’s likely that herd herd immunity doesn’t exist. Any sort of immunity may wear off after a while.
There is always an immunity for some to every disease. It's why we humans are still here, albeit bought at the cost of deaths of all those not immune until we are left with an immune population.

Good question. There's no utopia, but calabria has some lovely affordable rural propertie near beaches where the seawater is still 19c. Off course the Italian government is corrupt. But their just fine compared to the depraved twats in downing street at present.
Amazing weather there too.

No way could I go though. My Mum's just hit 90 and we're moving her to a 'retirement village' so no way can I abandon her till she's done her time here. If she was not around? Well even then I'm not sure - I have a dog and he loves the weather here - hates it too hot. So I'd have to wait till he's had his time too! And then even then..... I love the woods around here - walking in them. I walk the dog three times a day in those woods - and when he goes I'll just get another dog. For the most part politics for me is something I see on a computer screen and not something that really affects me much - though if Corbyn had gotten in I swear I would have been in a bad mood for ages.

that may be short lived against Covid.
After about 14 days, those who recover from Covid have significant level of IgG antibodies but some studies suggest they are gone within 3 months.
That's why I am resigned to self isolate/live with Covid for another 18 months to 2 years.
Hopefully some effective treatment will be available soon.

Terrible state of affairs

"Woman arrested for taking mum, 97, from care home
A retired nurse was arrested after she removed her 97-year-old mother from a care home before lockdown began.
Ylenia Angeli, 73, said she took "drastic action" due to a lack of face-to-face contact during the pandemic."

Interesting to know what law the police think was broken here?
Possibly because the Care Home was now down the most part of a grand a week??!!

THAT is exactly the kind of attitude that sunk the 'Remain' campaign. No attempt to understand why people voted the way they did - just an assumption that they must be stupid and I am SO much more educated and refined from those morons.

Talking down to people just doesn't win votes.
Indeed not, the Stupid object to having the fact outlined to them, however, it doesn't stop them being stupid in the future

My Tweet for today
oldgroaner@oldgroaner
While out taking my exercise on foot I noted the traffic levels seemed normal today, and yet...
Not one of the vehicles displayed "Testing my eyesight" or "Come to Sunny Barnard Castle" to persuade the police patrols their travel was a "necessary journey"

It pretty much always depends on who you compare yourself to. There's plenty of people I can do that with and come out looking clever - there's also quite a few I can think of where I come out looking stupid.

Hmmmm. Barry I'm not sure how this video makes your point. This gal - preacher - apparently supports Trump - and yet you're suggesting that this somehow demonstrates the weakness of Biden (not Trump)'s candidacy.

I don't understand. How does showing this weaken Biden's candidacy?

Honest question btw.
I didn’t intend to suggest that the video clip weakened Biden’s candidacy. It doesn’t have anything to do with Biden. Maybe I didn’t make that point strongly enough in the original post.

However, the clip gives us an insight into Donald’s decision making capacity and his ability to assemble a crack team around him. I think you will agree that in Paula White he has chosen a stable and lucid team member.

Due to his advancing years, I think Biden’s mental capacity is waining and he would not be capable of selecting a close adviser of White’s ability.

Voters, factor these things into their decisions, that’s why I believe the clip is to Biden’s disadvantage.

When I was in hospital, there were a couple of guys dying of cancer. They were not allowed to go home because they were deemed to be too ill, and they weren't allowed any visitors in case they caught covid. The only thing they both wanted was to see their families before they died.

I had to disagree since, as my post already explained, the fact that we are still here proves that there was immunity for some against every infection to date, over the 4+ million years we've been here as recognisably human.

Over 99.9% of those years we had no modern medicine alleviating the infection outcomes or creating a vaccine, so only immunity enabled our survival.

Agreed ... In general. However there can be plenty of 100% fatal infections WHO is constantly publishing data on outbreaks Fortunately the very quickly fatal ones self limit. . Every bug has two goals, somewhat contradictory .. reproduce as fast as possible ..which basically kills off hosts and infect as many hosts as possible. CV19 has this new trick, and the problem will be whether other bugs ever learn it... A Stealth fighter or Ninja Bug . Infiltrate and become highly infective, before showing any symptoms

However we Humans did have one major tool in our arsenal...and we used it extremely effectively for tens of thousands of years .. Isolation and Quarantine.
