If I were a democrat voter, I'd probably go to his rally if one was nearby even if I didn't want to vote for him. The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. Why can't we have politicians like that?
apparently, many more people waited for hours in the cold just to see Trump arriving in his car or plane.
Trump is a celebrity.
They are used to see him for more than a decade on TV, now they have a chance to see him for real.
It's just curiosity.
BJ will no doubt get the same treatment at the next election.

I've heard it from several commentators. There's something here that I just found from a Google search:

I was cycling through Cocoa Beach in March and ran straight into a pro Trump rally. These nutcases draw me in like a magnet and I was very quickly part of the goings on. Absolutely brilliant atmosphere and as soon as the clocked the English accent they made me very welcome, loads of hand shaking and back slapping :D I was right in the middle of it all. Very friendly, if not eccentric people. There seemed to be masses of support for Trump in Cocoa Beach.

Here's something about it:
Americans Think Their Neighbors Are Secretly Voting for Trump, Poll Shows
A poll of registered voters found 49 percent thought their neighbors were supporting Trump
People are ashamed to be seen supporting Trump.
that I can well believe!

Quote of the day

"“The sad reality is that now, as we enter a second national lockdown, responsibility for much of the UK’s emergency response to the Covid catastrophe essentially appears to rest in the hands of a former telephone saleswoman and a supermarket manager.”

Fat-Arse had raised the terrorism threat level to Severe. She’s sayin’ they aren’t expectin’ anythin’ to happen, but are doin’ it for the purpose of protectin’ people. I feel safe.

Apparently, the Joint European Terrorist Association has announced that they'll attack every country on the night before lock-down, which has already happened in France and Austria, so we get it tomorrow.

Do these figures support a degree of cautious optimism?

We know numbers tend to rise due because some do not make it through the system immediately. So it might be misplaced hope. But after about ten days of fire break is when we'd expect to see cases obviously fall.

The recorded death rate has been flat since 21st October. That's if you use the basic actual deaths per day supposedly related to Covid-19 instead of the derived and adjusted ones. In other words, what little spike there was, was all over long before the lock-down.

It isn't so much the not knowing. Rather the willingness to spout false statements. After all, it's surely easy enough to check. Isn't it?

Ministers have prompted confusion over England’s new lockdown rules with Michael Gove apologising for incorrectly indicating tennis and golf could be played, as cabinet colleague Robert Jenrick apparently wrongly suggested a family would be allowed to meet a friend for a walk outside.

Having said that, shouldn't the people who are making the decisions be in possession of the facts? Otherwise, on what basis do they make decisions? Or is that ante nuntium flumen est falsum where finger in the air is as good as science?
