the hard brexiters only want article 24 of the GATT rules.
The EU can easily agree to this if we give in on fish.

I had not realized until today that it is possible to do pool testing for Covid in order to save time and money. This seems like it could be something that schools, colleges, universities, work places etc. could use say on a weekly basis. If any virus shows up then further tests are required on the individual samples. More details here

Seems like a good idea to me, but many of you have much more knowledge of this than I do, what are your thoughts?

It is potentially of huge benefit when there are insufficient tests available to permit full individual testing.

“The negotiations have been comprehensive and useful. But they have also underlined the significant differences that still remain between us on a number of important issues.”
that sums it up nicely.
The EU wants to keep as much of the old relationship as possible, the brexiters are in charge on our side and want none of that. They wouldn't be any farther apart if they tried.
The only thing they have in common is to reduce WTO tariffs so that's what they'll do a deal on.

All purchased with money people don’t have and can’t afford to repay. Repo man will be knockin’ on the door very soon when the COVID & Brexit job losses kick in. And the big prize is squat all, absolutely nothing. I’ve not been able to find a single Brexiteer who can tell me what they expect to gain from Brexit.
I paid cash for mine! I've got loads of money. I'm just about to buy another house for cash to add to the five I already have. Since the Brexit vote, I seem to be getting more and more wealthy. Maybe there are a load of other guys like me.

Demand for houses to rent seems to have gone mental. A long term tenant of mine quit at the end of last month and I found a new tenant within a week. We did 27 viewings in one day so could be very choosy. I’ve finished up letting to a Polish woman for £80 / month more than the last tenant was paying. That’s a gain, but it doesn’t feel like a win somehow. It’s not good money, very short term cash-in now type business. I think it’s all going to collapse, but I’ve made good money over the years so it won’t cripple me. I’ll be ok.

I‘ve got some land on which I just started building prior to the Covid-19 lockdown. That’s all static now. I don’t think I’ll put any more money into that for the foreseeable future.

This is what Brexit has done, nobody wants to commit to anything, even me with my minuscule housing project, all the way up to big business. You can make a few quid taking chances, but that’s not good money.

I still don’t know what the Brexit prize is.

the return of light touch regulations where money is everything.
As BJ said, build build build. We are going to be able to turn vacant shops into habitations, build on greenfields and farm land etc. We will be able to hire and fire whenever we like, zero hour contract will be the norm for everyone. We will be able to engage in genetic and robotic research without supervision, produce foods without licence etc.

Instead of taking in each other's washing, we will be converting each other's attics. (For those who own houses!)
