As normal good post kudos...
But..... You,ve asked many times what vision of post Brexit UK is...well is sort of similar to now but with greater sovereignty, more productive, better wages and more content citizens....yep perhaps not but what's your vision of UK post none brexit? Westminster disbanded eventually, us being a poir second and third to France and Germany ...
Nobody knows what country will look like either way. There are severe risks either way. Personally think risks staying outweigh leaving.
Referendum was never viewed as advisory, had it been such turn out would have been 30%...not 72..
Post Brexit...
Greater sovereignty....the ability to make our own laws, fair enough.
But May's great repeal bill will be used by right wingers to filter out all the employment laws.as an employer that wouldn't bother me but most workers like the protection of these EU laws, would you be happy with that.
More productive....if we make our country unattractive to the bright or hard working EU labour and there is already a skills shortage in the UK how would poorly educated Brits make us more productive. The deletion of Asian to UK import tariffs, with Asian low labour costs and high investment levels the Uk would be smashed by imports.
Better wages....see my note above,we would need to keep wages low to compete with the Asians. Many of the jobs done by EU immigrants were low skilled, hard work....Brits have openly said they don't want to do these jobs, they are mostly on minimum wage and that won't change.
More content citizens....only if their aspirations and lifestyle is improved, but Hammond has already indicated that he intends to look after big business not poor people, that he has already made poorer.
In the Tory manifesto the single market was meant to be retained...I remember Cameron clearly saying...'say yes to the single market'
Brits have always been good at producing luxury goods in small volumes but we are not competitive when the volumes rise....in my business I am good at selling our own bespoke products to Europeans,I don't see that situation changing. But if the Europeans or anywhere else in the world have direct access to Asia we won't be able to compete.
After Brexit,we will find it difficult to trade with Europe so the home market will become priority, there are some who want it that way....but you cannot turn back the clock and go back to the 'good ol days',in those days we didn't have China, did we ?????
No Brexit....Europe has problems,I am pleased we are not part of the Euro,Europe is too big to control the Euro in so many countries. Business is good at the moment,I have worked hard taking our businesses into Europe over the last 10 years,we had customers in all 27 states.
Our future in Europe would depend on us having a strong government to work alongside Germany, the Germans would have found it attractive to work alongside us. The whole of Europe has an immigrant problem that needed to be solved on an EU basis,we just needed to show that we were prepared to work together to achieve a common aim,but we have scrapped all that with our Brexit.
Those that gloat that we have started the destruction of the EU and others will follow are promoting the emergence of the far right and the sheep mentality that goes with that....we have been here before,it resulted in WW2.
