So, it’s been stated on the record by Number 10 that Cummings was not spoken to by the police. Durham police have said they did speak to him. What’s going on there?

This could put the yellow streak of pi$$ hidden Prime Minister in a very uncomfortable position.

What does the installation of new points and switching gear at Leeds railway station have to do with Coronavirus? Why is this ******* stupid **** Shapps telling me this? What about the track and trace app you useless horsefucker!!!!! How’s that coming along?????
Now then, naughty. He's the Transport Secretary doing his job!!

Track and trace is the Health Secretary's job, and that is Matt Hancock.

This is a direct lift from the U.K. government website.

It is very important that individuals with symptomsthat may be due to coronavirus (COVID-19) and their household members stay at home. Staying at home will help control the spread of the virus to friends, the wider community, and particularly the most vulnerable.

Those with symptoms should remain at home for at least 7 days after the onset of their symptoms (see ending self-isolationbelow). This will reduce the risk of you infecting others.

Driving from a London to Durham is not compatible with the government’s advice.

Why are you such a very stupid man who gets everything wrong? I mean literally everything wrong.
Advice is not law!.
" Should " is not the same as "must " .
On this topic we are actually in agreement , I am basically giving the case for the defence.
As I said, he can claim that he was urgently looking after his wife and child, ..which is one of the exemptions

Surely doing their job is against the rules for this government?
Perhaps desperation in trying to detract attention from his hair!

Or showing off how much better he is at being transport secretary than Chris (Failing) Grayling, he of the invisible ferries.

That is a long time. But he can't claim ignorance.

Coronavirus: Cardiff man jailed for spitting at police officer
A 53-year-old man has been jailed for 26 weeks for spitting at a police officer after claiming he had coronavirus.
Darrell Glen Humphries, from Canton, Cardiff, admitted assaulting an emergency worker when he appeared before the city's magistrates.

As I understood, the should was in order to allow things like driving to a hospital or testing facility. Not to make it entirely optional.

Wrong again, it’s only an exception in the case of an immediate threat to life. Dr Harries states that at the briefing today.

Looks like there is more to come out...

New witnesses cast doubt on Dominic Cummings's lockdown claims
Exclusive: eyewitness says top No 10 aide left isolation to go 30 miles to popular tourist town
Devastating new claims have emerged that Dominic Cummings further breached the lockdown rules, as Downing Street came under sustained pressure to fire the prime minister’s most senior adviser.

The new testimony suggests Cummings left the home where he was staying in Durham to visit a town 30 miles away. He was allegedly spotted back in Durham on 19 April, days after he was photographed in London having recovered from the virus.

At the time, with the country at the peak of the pandemic, the government was insisting that people should be staying at home.

If this is all true, it really undermines Johnson's judgement. Which is already falling down the deepest mineshaft...

Adding:

In private, Tories were dismayed. In public, they rallied to save Dominic Cummings
Pressure is growing inside and outside parliament for the resignation of the No 10 chief adviser after claims that he flouted lockdown rules

Would that be the judgment which resulted in him catching Coronavirus?

He will **** on Cummings to save himself. I think this is going to be great entertainment. Better than the new railway points being installed at Leeds railway station anyway.

Entertaining the peasants is a (literally) noble tradition for holidays such as this weekend. In the absence of bear trainers and such like, the J & C show might have some entertainment value. :)

The BBC have reported the police bit like this:

A spokesman for the force said officers made contact with the owners of the address who confirmed the individual in question was present and was self-isolating in part of the house.

Which means that number 10 is trying to squeeze the meaning - police spoke to the owners of the property not DC. Watch for the "we didn't say the police didn't talk to anybody" get-out.

Mary Wakefield > Dominic Cummings' wife and no mention of their family outing to Durham

My version of the virus began with a nasty headache and a grubby feeling of unease, after which I threw up on the bathroom floor. ‘That’s disgusting, Mum,’ said my four-year-old son, handing me a towel with a look of patronizing distaste.

My husband did rush home to look after me. He’s an extremely kind man, whatever people assume to the contrary. But 24 hours later, he said ‘I feel weird’ and collapsed. I felt breathless, sometimes achy, but Dom couldn’t get out of bed. Day in, day out for 10 days he lay doggo with a high fever and spasms that made the muscles lump and twitch in his legs. He could breathe, but only in a limited, shallow way.

After a week, we reached peak corona uncertainty. Day six is a turning point, I was told: that’s when you either get better or head for ICU. But was Dom fighting off the bug or was he heading for a ventilator? Who knew? I sat on his bed staring at his chest, trying to count his breaths per minute. The little oxygen reader we’d bought on Amazon indicated that he should be in hospital, but his lips weren’t blue and he could talk in full sentences, such as: ‘Please stop staring at my chest, sweetheart.’

After the uncertainty of the bug itself, we emerged from quarantine into the almost comical uncertainty of London lockdown.

I wish I could share your optimism, I really do. I voted for Brexit, but have realised that this bunch of useless ***** can’t deliver it. Do you honestly think this government is capable of making a national success of Brexit?

I'm afraid you and vfr are wrong. the problem is not in the execution. it's the idea. Brexit, like herd immunity (https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/coronavirus/immunity-to-coronavirus-could-only-last-six-months-study-finds-casting-fresh-doubt-on-ministers-plans-to-give-survivors-immunity-passports/ar-BB14tVzy?ocid=spartandhp) is a very, very, utterly **** idea. No one could execute it successfully. and it could never work. But yet you and most of the electorate voted for it? To quote you, how can you be such a stupid man and keep on getting things so wrong?
Johnson, cummings, Brexit, covid and the great British electorate are unfortunately very much an example of a company getting the management it deserves.

I have to disagree. Johnson, Cummings and Brexit are interlinked as a menace, the first two in making Brexit into a strong democratic probability. The electorate were then foolish enough to additionally directly and indirectly vote for those two in a GE to implement it.

A proven fool and a clever manipulator giving the country very unwise outcomes with both Brexit and now the pandemic that will cost us dear for many years, perhaps permanently.
