The government has privately conceded there will be checks on goods crossing the Irish sea post Brexit, months after Boris Johnson insisted there would be no such trade barriers.
If the Government had any sense they would do the same as was done with Citizens Band Radio. After years of protests by enthusiasts of CB it was legalized, but only UK certified sets were allowed and they were mostly made here. People still sneaked illegal sets in from Europe though but at least it gave companies like Amstrad a large foot in the door.
A great idea, but with a captive market and reduced competition, they’ll have your trousers down with pricing. They won’t be able to stop themselves, the temptation will be irresistible.
I see the world death graph (the one that shows that the U.K. government is the worst performing in Europe) has been removed from The Coronavirus Show. Dr Errr Ahem, says that in the interests of transparency, we aren’t supposed to look in that direction for at least 12 months. What a strange answer, she must have been promised glitter and jewels.
But it can't happen. The only reason the scooters are being considered politically is because of pressure from the US scooter companies. Without that there's no chance of them being legalised here.

In the case of that radio equipment it was cheap n' cheerful stuff anyway and not a patch on the stuff you could get from the US and the rest of Europe, unfortunately that was all illegal to own but strangely not to repair which is what I made a killing doing back in the day.
They always seem to at first. Remember when Vince Cable first popped up scaring the Tories by performing brilliantly in the HoC. Many were saying he'd make a good PM.
Wasn't too long before that became difficult to believe and he became a fumbling ditherer. Politics is dead easy when one doesn't have to do it, look how good at it we all are!

2) Corbyn did not set off well - he never got hard hits in. (But he did try to avoid some of the worst that we have seen in others.)

That's usually true, but I don't remember Corbyn ever being any good at PMs questions. He couldn't think on his feet, he would carry on with the 6 questions his minders had written down for him, even if the answer given to his first question made the rest of his questions obsolete.
Starmer has made more of an impression on holding the PM to account in just two PM questions than Corby did in over 3 years worth of trying against May and BJ.

Corbyn couldn't even get the better of the robotic May, Stamer would have made mince meat of her.
I suspect the reason JRM is desperate to get all the MPs back is that he can see that BJ is being exposed by Starmer in the kind of court room atmosphere present in the commons at the moment. That suits Starmers style, but BJ needs a crowd to back him up and to play to.
