Some analysis of the Tory Euro-Sceptics that caused Cameron to enter into this Brexit folly in the first place....
Jacob William Rees-Mogg.

The ConservativeHome blog rates Rees-Mogg as one of the Conservatives' most rebellious MPs.[22] He has voted against the government whip on the Fixed-term Parliaments Bill, the October 2011 European Union Referendum Motion and theHouse of Lords Reform Bill 2012.[23]

He also helped filibuster the Daylight Saving Bill 2010–12 and the Sustainable Livestock Bill 2010–12, thus preventing their passage through Parliament. In his long speech on the Sustainable Livestock Bill, he recited poetry; spoke of the superior quality of Somerset eggs, and mentioned the fictional pig, the Empress of Blandings, who won silver at the Shropshire County Show three years in a row, before moving on to talk about the sewerage system and the Battle of Agincourt.[21][24][25][26] He also attempted to amend the Daylight Saving Bill to give the county of Somerset its own time zone, 15 minutes behind London.[27]

Rees-Mogg debating at theCambridge Union Society
In a debate on London Local Authorities Bill on 7 December 2011, he said that council officials who have the power to issue on-the-spot fines should be forced to wear bowler hats.[28][29]

He comes from a coal mining owning family, described as 'anachronistacally posh',I bet he regrets the passing of those days when pit ponies and child labour were cheap labour down the mines.
In 1997 GE he canvassed and lost the seat of central Fife,it probably didnt help his cause in touring the constituency in a Bentley...he insisted it was a Mercedes....OMG,not a Mercedes, one wouldnt be seen in one, would one!!!
In 2013 he addressed the Traditional Britain Group annual dinner, which is known to have extreme right wing views regarding immigration.
Bet he knows how to 'PASS THE PORT' Ol Boy,hehe !!!!
Just cant see him as a champion of the poverty stricken family from Hartlepool or a mate of Farage.
Is this really what Theresa May sees as someone representing a 'country for everyone!!!
KudosDave

I read somewhere that Boris now wants an amnesty for illegal immigrants....is he purposely trying to wind up Theresa May.....I thought we are going through all this pain so as to 'take control' of immigration.
What is Boris about ?????

well, the telegraph quoting him says "he believes he has a moral responsibility to raiser this as an issue"
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/11/30/boris-johnson-calls-forillegal-immigrants-granted-amnesty-afterbrexit/
how does one begin to describe this. boris has never had a "moral responsibility". I guess he's been reading too much and becoming eloquent.

A spokesperson for the Boris Fan club has issued a statement explaining this unexpected change of tack.
Boris has discovered that no matter what he says there will always be someone who agrees with him, so it follows that throwing a "wobbly" now and then will widen his political appeal.
If you don't like what he's saying today, not to worry! the remarks are likely to be ones more to your liking tomorrow, or alternatively he will stand in front of a different bus with a different slogan, a handy tip learned from Lord Nigel that can be denied later.
That way everyone gets something they like, a golden example of "Equal opportunity policies" at work to benefit the Public.
Surely the ultimate expression of Democracy is to be on all sides at one and the same time?
Works for me .
I.M.H.O etc., etc

I suppose OG, Derf, Kudos and Tom will just dismiss Patrick Minford as an idiot, xenophobe, racist , mis informed, or plain barmy ??

Plenty of blinkers used on this thread..

No blinkers here, I simply have a low opinion of Patrick Minford's opinions and abilities, based on his record.

He's repeatedly shown himself to be unthinkingly Europhobic, automatically opposed to anything emanating from that direction. He was a strong supporter of the discredited Poll Tax. As a Professor of Applied Economics in Wales one might hope for far more economic strength from that region than it's present miserable grant supported performance.

He's credited with creating the "Liverpool" economic model, another failed economy area, and he's previously worked for the UK government during some our worst economic failures.

So forgive me for having serious doubts about this man.

Whatever his failures there is an obvious depth of knowledge unlikely to be found on here....You dismiss his thoughts to justify your own.
Do you really think you know more about economics than he does ???
To be fair its a syndrome generally demonstrated by both sides of the argument but on here seems more a characteristic of a few remainers . If you dont agree with what somebody is saying, dismiss them as incompetent or some other insult. Its been done for entire thread with folk from Gove to King, from Hargreaves to Minsford.

Its same with football. Amazing how all folk stood on terraces know more than chaps in dugout, put them in charge tho and they would not have a clue.

But what do you reckon to Roger Bootle or Gerard Lyons ?? Arguably most respected ( pre brexit) economists in UK..both saying leave ???

You haven't been paying attention have you? I didn't call him any names, I expressed sympathy that the poor mans luck had run out and the leadership of the UKIP inflicted on him.
Most unfortunate[emoji1]
But after all your namesake will be wanting it back quite soon.
How many times is it now?

Contrary to what we,ve been led to believe there were more major investigations saying brexit would be long term beneficial to UK than those saying otherwise. Osbourne chose to dismiss London Mayor Study. Capital Study and many others. The consencus was short term uncertainty, mid to long term faster growth. The government chose to brainwash people. ( but to be fair so did leave !!) Both sides lied.

The economists arguing for leave should have been used far more and Farage far less. Yes they got what they wanted , but look at the cost now, with leavers labelled racist, idiots, xenophobic.

If you follow the logic of Brexit, the logical end point will be that we accept it was all a mistake from the start, walk back to Africa to go back to living in trees.
If you check out what was considered to be mankinds greatest mistake. It was after leaving the trees. But had a massive influence on the lifespan and physique of the population.
But slightly before brexit though.

Please do try to be a little more accurate, so far all that I have commented on is his ability to fit into lord Nigels Jackboots, his wish to ban the Burhka, and I commiserated on his misfortune at being temporarily lumbered with a Cowboy outfit till Lord Nigel feels another come back coming on.

Oh. and asked if someone could give him a purple tie to avoid possibly embarrassing issues of him being confused with a certain Comedian (rather than being recognised for the strength of his own comical wit.)

Had you not been the person wearing Blinkers (well spotted by the way, was a mirror involved?) you would have noted my true comments didn't call him any names at all.

Memo to self, get a purple set of Blinkers in support of the UKIP.
I.M.H.O naturally

But you cant see that Farage and his cronies are infact a distraction from what's happening. You,ve bought into the rhetoric used to try and discredit all aspects of Brexit.
Read Capital Enquiry 2016. Lord Mayors Economic Review 2014. Minford ,s Report. Hargreaves Report. They are all supportive of Brexit, yet what do you home in on ! Jack boots , Garage, racism etc. You are being used OG.

I have taken your excellent advice and Googled "Mankinds Greatest Mistake"
It came up with 29,000 results, so could you please be patient and I will ask my great Grandchildren come back to yours when a Positive Conclusion is reached, or perhaps when the "Plan" for Brexit is revealed, whichever is the sooner.
OG. (and his heirs and Decendants)

It was put forward as agriculture, it led to long working hours, division of labour, dietary issues, reduced height and lifespan.
And agricultural policy was one reason for brexit

The establishment didn't want rocking . BBC the most biased reporting network imaginable.( close second is Mail tho)

Once again your lack of research is showing, I have expressed many times on here that even if there were a guarantee of economic success over Brexit, the social damage caused to the future development of society is I.M.H.O the real killer to the idea of going back to being an inward looking frightened little society.
I really have little interest other than that, as economics are really something where we seem to be able to fudge and get away with it, so frankly even if these people are at a genius level regarding economics they cannot change society for the better.
My interest is in the future of the people of this nation, not the economy which is simply a tool not a philosophy.
If the Human race collapses back into a tribal society over mere money then we are truly doomed.
I don't have to try to discredit Brexit, as it is totally devoid of any credibility, and even if it was gold plated and came with a brass band offers Nothing whatever to the advancement of the Human Race.
For someone who didn't vote in the Referendum, you have some very strange views, but there's nothing wrong in that.
Two choices face the Human Race, fragment and simply repeat the old antagonisms and wars, or join together into, eventually a world order where wars are a thing of the past.
Brexit is simply the Future refusing to be born
When this country was the richest in the world the poor lived short disease riddled lives and starved, but the economy boomed.
I.M.H.O
