If they are to be used for sex offenders, they should first be validated. For example, the members of the current government...?

I'd also say, the consequences of a lie detector test being wrong could be horrific for both sex offenders' potential victims and, indeed, for sex offenders - not all of whom have done the most terrible things. Yet, if they "fail" such a test wrongly, they could end up very badly treated.

Lie detectors should be used to monitor sex offenders, UK study says
Research for police argues that compulsory polygraph testing could reduce risk to the public

I doubt it's anything to do with our doctors. I think it is logical and it's why I'm so optimistic and have ignored Italy's data.

The Italians socialise far more than we do, aided by their more clement weather, so transmission has many more opportunities.

It seems our native reserve, poor weather and car driving culture have been very helpful.

I've read that smoking seems to be a major factor, Or any illness that reduces lung function.

With an in depth pilot study on all Mp's at Westminster
If any of them test out as truthful we know the equipment is faulty!

And it would certainly reduce risk to the public

Now the government is really making a huge mistake:

Labour MPs alarmed at Covid-19 laws being passed without vote

Emergency measures would be in place for two years with no plans for review
It is incredible that there were enough stupid people in this country to allow Boris and co unlimited power.

Do you want total Coronovirus?
It's the will of the people (not that anyone is asking them or Parliament if it comes to that)

Shades of the little German spin Doctor
All we lack is the mass rallies

May as well laugh
Pandemic Stupidity is far worse than Coronavirus

People here (and in other places I sometimes inhabit) having been shouting louder than government advisers. Now this is being made explicit in ways that might be very uncomfortable for the incumbents:

Scientists have been sounding the alarm on coronavirus for months. Why did Britain fail to act?
Richard Horton

The warnings from China and Italy were loud and clear. But politicians and their advisers wasted valuable time – and lives will be lost as a result

The reason why Italy is suffering so badly, write University of Oxford researchers in a new paper in the journal Demographic Science, may be twofold: The country has the second-oldest population on earth, and its young tend to mingle more often with the elderly, like their grandparents.

Wouldn't put it past Frinton-on-Sea to get their gates back!

Schools now closing Friday - apart for kids of essential workers

Expect all of BJ's foundlings to be dropped off on 10 Downing St's doorstep monday morning...
Some of them will have a long way to travel....

I am now receiving messages about "army on the streets tomorrow... or is it Friday". I am getting a distinct feeling that the rumour mill is running out of control. But given the legislation that is supposed to be going through tomorrow, who knows what will really happen.

Mind, if used positively, the forces could be very positive and helpful. If mis-managed, it could be even more disastrous.

Speaking of rumours...
