ironically, yes. were I an eighty year old who contributed and paid tax all my adult life and were cynically disposed off this way I know what I'd do ( dress as Santa and go and hand out hugs in Westminster)
It’s appalling really. Elderly people are being spoken about like they are garden waste. How must it feel to know that you are considered to be worthless? If you become ill, you aren’t worth saving?

Most veg gets cooked and that kills the virus, so I doubt we'll see more wrapping there.
.
Not sure about that. Maybe we consume more salad than many, but I wouldn't be surprised if the split is fairly even between cooked and not cooked.

Pound tanked a bit to $1.20 but the FT100 got a bit back.
Sunak is offering up to £10,000 grant to small businesses.
He on the news right now.
That sounds pretty good to me!

As an Engineer have you suddenly come to realize the situation you've been in all your life?
I'm shocked I tell you!
Talk about an Epiphany

I just watched the Cheif liar and croneys on TV, strange how suddenly the advice of their experts is coming round to thinking about funding a cure or other treatments exactly as we have been calling for on here for many days.
And Boris was utterly out of his depth finding sheltering behind experts the cute thing to do

Possibly, considering the British aversion to cooking and aversion to even eating vegetables.

Will still pass from one person's hand to another as they pick their veg. As you say, eating the veg should be fine if it's cooked.

I think we (the two of us - not the whole population) actually eat quite a lot of vegetables - just consuming quite a lot uncooked.
I do, I love vegetables, but a very high proportion of our nations don't. There aren't many veg takeaways for example.

Just seeing a raft of people who are anything from concerned to incandescent. They are sufferers of Pernicious Anaemia - a state in which they are unable to absorb vitamin B12 in any ingested form - food or supplement - and need regular injections. Frequency varies from initial loading doses every other day, right up to one every three months. (As you might guess, these intervals have long been a source of disagreement anyway.)

Now some of these people are being told they cannot have their next injection due to CV - and isolation, how busy they are, etc.

Bear in mind, its very name means it kills. Might take quite a long time but it is fatal. And between the last injection and death is, from reports, hideous. It is only discussed so lightly nowadays because of

Sufferers have long been importing their own B12, mostly from Germany, because injectable is prescription-only in the UK simply because it is injectable. Most of those who do so, then self-inject. And many others wouldl like to self-inject. They could then control the frequency and feel less of a burden. But at least some doctors are telling patients that self-injection is illegal!

Total madness in normal times. Even more ridiculous in our current circumstances.

Just had confirmation of quite how bad the situation is:

The fast food chain, McDonalds, is closing all seating areas and temporarily move to being takeaway, drive-through and delivery only in the UK and Ireland from 5am on Wednesday (GMT), it has said.
