I was speaking nationally of course, marginals can be different.
.

This is interesting and doesn't bode well for Labour.

Despite your belief Flecc that Corbyn did amazing at the last election

''The Conservatives had been expected to win a landslide victory in June 2017, but although the party increased its share of the vote it lost 13 seats and its majority as support for Labour surged.''

They are in a stronger position now and Labour have gone a long, long way backwards with cORBYN POLLING THE WORST EVER NUMBERS SINCE POLLING BEGAN.

I'm aware of all that of course, but please remember that for 2017 Labour was predicted to do very badly, but in the event confounded everyone, including me. That of course included my own almost always Tory constituency suddenly getting an extreme swing to a record Labour win for a new untrued candidate. And that against the standing member, a Tory blue eyed boy who'd had oodles of publicity in all the media.

The secret of that Labour unexpected sudden recovery was Momentum and some very clever strategies, so I'm not making any predictions other than to say there could be another surprise in store. It's time to be patient and not prejudge.

Remember also that wasn't the only time Corbyn surprised. There was that vast adoring crowd at Glastonbury singing "Oh Jeremy Corbyn". Before that event there wasn't a single person anywhere who would have or could have predicted anything like that happening, but it did in spite of all Corbyn's negative media coverage and Tory attacks against him.

I was at Glastonbury when that happened and I remember seeing those people licking the inside of the bus windows as they were being driven back to the nut house. It was a very emotional moment.
I know you are keen on flying, but it's better to use aircraft rather than taking substances to get high.

The latter can lead to all sort of delusions.

Seems we might have to make our own pigs in blankets this year. (And in future?) Due to lack of seasonal workers.

Mind, I always make ours (pretty darned easy, aren't they?) so won't directly affect us.

Dont worry Oyster, there will be some other poor group of immigrants coming along for some of us to take advantage of.
Seasonal workers is just a nice name for poorly paid desperate people working for under minimum wage and with scant regard for H&S, rights or proper reward.

The Conservatives have had to claim that "It wouldn't make any sense at all to dilute workers rights in building that coalition t land the bill"
According to the Business Miniser Kwarteng
Unfortunately he is on of the Authors of "Britannia Unchained"
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2012/aug/22/britannia-unchained-rise-of-new-tory-right

It contains sentiment like this
" current employment law offers "excessive protections" to workers. "People who are coasting – it should be easier to let them go, to give the unemployed a chance. It is a delicate balancing act, but it should be decided in favour of the latter."

Not much chance of Kwarteng being truthful about workers rights, is there? what the hell are any Labour Mp's doing supporting these fools?

But voting Labour would be a tactical vote, helping to prevent a Tory win while very unlikely to give Labour an overall majority. At best Labour could only get into power with others helping while restraining them.
.
I am not that worried about them implementing their policies, of course many would be watered down before hitting the statute book.

But I am concerned about them representing a vote from me as a mandate to go ahead with any brexit at all. And I see no way of expressing that in a vote for labour. PC and LibDems are my potential options for making that clear, I think. But how awful to see Crabb and the tories get back in.

I’ve just read an article about food retailers SPASDA. They want to shred their employees contracts and then make them sign a new one on less favourable terms. The penalty for not signing will be dismissal.

This seems wrong to me, for many reasons.

Agreed, but lack of worker protection long been Tory policy and it will get far worse with Brexit.

Do we know anyone from Hull?

What has this to do with Hull?

He is from St Helens and has committed offences there and at Wigan and Leigh. Those and his court appearances have all been in Lancashire with no connection to Yorkshire, let alone Hull.

Really Fingers, with truth distortions like this I think buying a house is turning you into a Tory!

I don’t understand how they can dismiss their employees for the offence of not agreeing to destroy their contracts of employment and signing up to new less favourable terms. There must be a case for constructive dismissal or unfairness.

I know the Tory’s are keen to restrict access to tribunals, perhaps this is why. Brexit will make it easier for firms to behave like this.

If I shopped as ASDA I’d stop doing so because of this. But their poor service and $hit food caused me to do that years ago.
