Who is writing Boris's material?
"
in Biarritz on Monday, Mr Johnson reiterated his determination to stop Mr Corbyn becoming prime minister.

"One of my many missions in life is to protect the people of this country from the appalling consequences of a Labour government," Mr Johnson said.

He added that Mr Corbyn, if in power, "would also renege, reject, revoke the mandate of the people".

We are living through the appalling consequences of a Conservative Government !

And how is asking the people to confirm a decision revoking their mandate?

Dear oh Dear the people spoke, and having spoken were told to shut up for evermore...
You only get one wish..

laughable!

But Ken Clark would be a different proposition.
A large number of Labour and SNP MPs won't have Ken Clarke as caretaker PM.
The only viable strategy is to force a GE after brexit.

Hopefully we will be able to bring in legislation that stops this when we leave.

What odds will you give on a Tory government ever doing that?
They have had every opportunity to do so but haven't

Stop the Guardian reporting on it more likely, the government won't want that sort of thing reported , it could cause trouble..

Hell's teeth Fingers you're way beyond an optimist, you believe in miracles
Bless as you so often post.

It’s not very funny.

And I suspect the people would vote them in again. The person to blame is Corbyn for being so utterly inept.

people who voted for leave are the ones to blame
How inept was that?
All you had to do was put a cross in a box, and you couldn't do that right.

seriously though it does make you wonder why we have two of the worst nut cases of all time in charge of the Major parties just when they can do most harm.
It's like something written by Terry Pratchett.
Boris as Cohen the Barbarian and Corbyn as Rincewind.

he does not have to.
It's up to him to write the letter to Donald Tusk requesting an extension.
He'll wait until the 31st October at 23:00 PM and say 'oops, I did it again'.
Maybe. But he might be forced into some other path:

Boris Johnson would be committing the “gravest abuse of power and attack on UK constitutional principle in living memory” if he shuts down parliament to help force through a no-deal Brexit, according to legal advice obtained by Labour.

In a six-page document prepared for Jeremy Corbyn, the shadow attorney general, Shami Chakrabarti, laid out how any such move by the prime minister would be open to immediate legal challenge in the courts.

She said it could be subject to judicial review and the courts “might well even grant interim injunctive relief in order to allow both houses of parliament to continue to sit and discharge their primary and sovereign constitutional role in this current moment of national crisis”.

he does not need to shut parliament down, just give MPs nothing to vote on.
