I doubt that he will react with anything but a yawn.
JC should do the right thing, leave the interim PM job to somebody else and better still, resign as leader of the opposition.
TM has resigned, he should do the same.
His primary job is to defend Labour seats in any GE, he can't do that when his policy on brexit is at odd with 75% of Labour voters and activists.

Good post, only thing I, d add is he should have done so prior to last GE. Him staying in is a corruption of power.

Turkey’s military pension fund in talks to buy British Steel. Someone please tell me this is a joke. Anyone?

Well., I laughed..what else can you do?
The irony is that British workers at British Steel have been royally shafted over their British Steel pensions. Now they find themselves working to secure the pension rights and futures of Turkish soldiers.

Brexit will oil the wheels which allow this type of situation to arise. But still, we will be able to take control of the laws that no one can define, and the borders that we can’t possibly manage.

I posted about that the other day.

Today adds:

The Guardian this week reported that Oyak was accused of corruption by a parliamentary commission, and jointly owns a car plant where striking workers were allegedly mistreated. Oyak declined to comment when the report was put to it.

Sorry, I missed your earlier post.

If British workers having their company pension entitlements stolen so that Turkish soldiers can enjoy a reasonable retirement, doesn't drive home how ****ed, with a capital F, this country is, then nothing will.

There was a Mong who phoned into LBC a couple of days ago shouting about Brexit, stating all the usual rubbish about we won, 17.4 million, take back control, you know the sort of crap. He could not name one law, one piece of legislation, one aspect of border control or one element of our currency that will be better after Brexit. He couldn't even say how or if the EU adversely affects any of these things. Nobody can, so it's hardly surprising.

The ****-hole kept saying thing like, we are a great nation & we will pull through, we have come through worse things than Brexit in the past, we might only be small geographically but we are big hitters on the world stage. Why do we need to "pull through" or have endured "worse things?" We don't need to endure this or pull through, its self inflicted, we could choose not to do it. It's like saying, I'm going to deliberately put my hand into this raging fire for no reason or benefit that I can name, I know it will hurt, but I'll pull through because a pan of boiling water fell on my head a few years ago and I think that was worse. It's unbelievable.

After listening to idiots like the bloke on LBC, I'm afraid I'm starting to think like OG and J Agnew. The only way is for these people to learn the hard way. They won't be satisfied until they are either out of a job or begging an overseer for a zero hours contract to do shitmunching.

Fully agree with everything except the last two sentences In my opinion... They won't be satisfied. It will always be someone elses fault. They don't learn the hard way, beyond the age of 10. ..

I know the day when you fully agree with me will never arrive :) but at least we have found a patch of common ground.

You are right to disagree with the last bit of my post, they will blame everyone and everything except their own mistake in pushing for Brexit, even when the warning signs were written in 20 metre tall neon letters. My guess is that perversely, the EU will cop for the blame because they didn’t let us enjoy all of the benefits, without adherence to club rules and at zero cost. Johnson & Co will nurture that notion because it gets them off the hook and the Brexiteers will think that it saves them from embarrassment.

Clarke or Harman as caretaker PM? Go on then as long as they promise not to touch anything or do anything outside of stopping a no deal Brexit. Can they be trusted unsupervised in the sweet shop though? Will Harman try and get one of her mental ideas passed? It would be a big risk.

Did Harman do anything contentious in the past?
I think if there is a vote of no confidence, it has to be the last resort and ought to be done in October after the normal maneuver has failed to stop Bojo.

Ken Clarke is a very safe bet, always very rational and considered in his statements and actions.

But I find it very easy to agree with you, all you need do is talk sense!.
