Exclusive pollBoris Johnson 'has public's support to shut down Parliament to get Brexit over line'

And in the Daily Mail

Majority of Britons back suspending Parliament to get Brexit done: 54% say Boris Johnson should leave the EU 'by any means' and 88% think MPs are out of touch with the people they serve
  • Poll found 54% of the public agree the PM 'needs to deliver Brexit by any means'
  • However, 51% thought Brexit should be halted if border issues threaten union
  • 77% agreed the Queen 'should be above politics and not get involved in Brexit'
Note two things
The poll was Commissioned by the Telegraph and
51% thought Brexit should be halted if border issues threaten union.

No one asked me. If anything, I think the mood has swung the other way, fewer people want this disaster in the making.

He hasn't got my support to help an old lady across the road.

Not that the old lady doesn't need or deserve some help. But I wouldn't wish him to do it and make it a photo opportunity, or abandon her halfway across as he thinks (?) of something else he'd rather be doing, or doesn't notice the reality of a juggernaut bearing down on her.

the right wing press does their owners' bidding but fake news is fake news, 'alternative facts' as they like to call it.
By this time next year, we'll have found out the cost of brexit.

I see Farage is in trouble again, this time for having a go at Prince Ginger and his private jetted eco-warrior wife. He should leave them alone, they might twig and stop behaving in the way that they do. Ginger & Cringer are a good source of laughter and Farage risks spoiling it. We want something back for the money we spend on them, and a good laugh is about all they can offer.

You Gov 6th August
Right 41%
Wrong 47%
Don't know 13%
As seems so often the case the percentages don't add up!
there is a big difference between stopping brexit (Greens & Libdems remain) and stopping no deal brexit (Corbyn's approach).

Bojo has managed incredibly to bring some soft brexiters to his camp by setting a date as a rallying point and branding MPs 'the elites' (which has some truth) while Corbyn continues to divide the remainers. I am afraid that unless JC goes, the remainers have lost.

Interesting happening north of the border:

Court hears fresh challenge to Johnson's no-deal Brexit
Hearing in Edinburgh to determine how timing of bid, backed by more than 70 MPs, could work

Hot on the heels of news of a commerative Brexit 50p coin, comes a new 50p coin featuring Paddington Bear and The Tower of London to celebrate PM Boris Johnson's £100m boost to improve prison security and cut crime .

They may not be enough to buy a decent jar of marmalade, but new 50p coins featuring Paddington Bear have entered circulation.

The coin - featuring the bear from darkest Peru at the Tower of London - have been released by The Royal Mint.

On Tuesday, they filled the tills at the Mint's museum in Llantrisant, South Wales, and will be circulated more generally in the coming weeks.

Stop being a twat, it's nothing of the sort.
It was racist, but the nice, civilised sort against our traditional enemy, the French.

Just like President Macron's interfering obstructions to our attempts to get an acceptable leave agreement with the EU. Same traditional enemy racist motive.

Is that now being sexist.. since my understanding is that Twxxxx word is old English.... Seriously to take an entire population and call them treacherous IS the definition of Racist.. particularly when they are from another country. ..they don't need to be a different colour.

The French are treacherous, it’s what makes them who they are.

You are still being a twat. Stop it.

Treachery, which is the defining characteristic of the French. It’s deeply routed in the shame and embarrassment they have suffered over the past 100 years. We are well on the way to equalling them.
"equalling them"? We are a million miles beyond Russia selling Alaska to the Americans for 2c an acre in the international embarrassment stakes. We couldnt, as a nation, be more embarrassing if we collectively pulled our knickers over our heads.
