If my Borough Council is anything to go by, get ready for a snap general election. They are rushing through an update of the electoral lists with a response deadline of 16th August and threatening a £1000 fine for any non-responders. Given that the schools have already broken up and some will already have left on long holidays, their short notice is unfortunate to say the least.

It seems likely that Boris Johnson's "Clap hands and say you believe in fairies" acceptance speech could be his first shot in a General Election campaign, saying "Look at all the wonders I'm promising you. How can you not vote for me".
.
I am wondering what the shortest time between becoming PM and losing a by-election?

Of course we do not know whether that will be the case in Brecon and Radnorshire next Thursday, but always good to have some statistics ready.

Out of interest what is your first language?
Still here? why not out celebrating that the man you voted for has become PM?
Out of interest, why do you keep asking what is your first language?
Is it because you can't read and comprehend my posts that don't cause anyone else to experience any difficulty?
A basic English remedial course could help with your problem
However even that will not stop you being too thick (by your own admission)to understand jokes.

Wow.

You have to be a bot. Who is paying for your servers is a mystery but it has to be Pakistan or Afghanistan level of funding.

It’s almost as amusing as the person who keeps playing the Exorcist music behind the news tents at parliament. Almost.

At least that’s original. You just repeat everything I say ( badly )and cut and paste the rest.

It might be the jumbled way you use CaPitaL letters, or your unbridled passion for repitition. Or perhaps your basic stupidity when suggesting Fingers voted for BJ. Or perhaps just simply because you spend 4 hrs a day on here writing tomes for 5 of us to ignore.

Imagine that, a country run by the leave campaign.
And this campaign has dropped almost all of its promises except to leave the EU
Except for perhaps a few quid for the NHS

And Boris is selecting a cabinet from the lees at the bottom of the dregs of the Conservative Party
I wonder just how many leave voters are happy that they effectively voted him into office?
There ought to be a poll about that somewhere.

So now you are accusing me of being a bot?
My goodness! did you do that all on your own?
I use a phone to connect to the internet, is that what you call a "Server"?
And do tell us what you know about being funded by Pakistan or Afghanistan.
I take it that is from your personal experience?
Fingers, you are a strange one, conflicted when you should be grateful that Boris is going to give you the Brexit you have been wetting yourself over.
Don't you want your precious Brexit any more, just because you don't rate Boris?

You are not above doing the same things and worse are you?
And how can you possibly deny that both you and he voting for Brexit inevitably led to Boris becoming PM?
Your darling Dominic Cummings expected him to achieve that the first time round, and leave campaigners assure us he is a "genius" so much so Boris has made him "Senior Adviser"

Those who voted leave are entirely responsible for the Government we now are about to have,
No if, no buts, your creation, and your responsibility.

The inescapable truth is that you didn't have a clue what the consequences of voting for Brexit amounted to.
Worse still you are no wiser after all this time

If the Remainers hadn’t been such staunch adversaries of democracy it’s quite possible we would now be approaching our second year away from the EU.

Shame they now have to be dragged screaming and shouting by their worst nightmare.

You asked for it, you now have to accept it.

With acceptance you may finally get closure.

Tad selective Fingers - you seem to forget ERG were also unimpressed with leaving on May's compromise deal and what it entailed - for different reasons but they were a spanner in the works.

On that note

Mogg says has not yet been asked to do any particular job but has made it clear that he would accept any job

Before your time but a taste of more of what's to come...

In a word, no. I'm chuffed to bits with boris and his hard brexit bs. If chunt is may with trousers, boris is may without trousers, an emperor without clothes. Other than to you of course. I gather from your obtuse post you still believe brexit was ever more than an undeliverable xenophobic pipedream sold by populists to bigots.

I notice sterling is up against all major currencies today.

I wonder why.

Did anything happen today that might inspire their confidence.

You know - people who put their money where their mouths are......

Indeed. She was a remainer. She got rolled over. She thought all this nonsense would die away like other things in government do.

Oh how wrong she was. She did zero planning. Zero contingency. She used Failing Grayling.... she had the Irish telling her what to do ffs.

We tried the gentle touch. Now it’s time for the professionals.

See what I did there with tv series?

Thats like saying winning WW2 in 1945 and joining Common Market in 1973 has led to BJ being PM. Change either of those and we wouldnt be in line for BJ in no 10.
The chief causes of BJ getting to be PM is fact May's deal failed to get Parliaments support and we do not have a credible alternative to Tories. For that blame Corbyn and every single fool who has supported him in past.
But that wont pass muster in your simplistic view of situation. Its easier to blame leavers than actually try to be informed about situation.
As for blaming ERG for May's failure thats missing point. Only one of either extreme needed to support the deal. Since it was written by EU your remaining MPs should have backed it. We, ve got BJ because, just like you, many, the extremes of both opinions, are incapable of compromise.
We should have accepted May's deal. It was a compromise, not perfect for all but suited vast majority.
I blame Remain MPs and supporters for their failure to compromise and pushing us to stupid situation of the bumbling oaf in no10 with no real alternative to May.
Ofcourse ERG voted against it. We werent actually leaving, but why on earth didnt remainers get behind it. So they could blame leavers and say told you so.

We are in same situation as 3 years ago.

Well that was your Leavers problem as pointed out from the beginning - the lemming leap into the unknown - welcome to the past 3 years

Meanwhile Jacob Rees-Mogg appointed Diversity Viceroy of India

Mr Rees-Mogg heads to India on a boat first thing tomorrow and expects to arrive and take up his post in the New Year.

Famous for his old-fashioned values and love of the days when Britain ruled the waves, he was a favourite for the Viceroy and Governor-General role.

He will be responsible for running the British Empire in India and keeping the locals under control.

Some political advisors had expected Mr Rees-Mogg to be housing minister, where he could have put together a new package for building workhouses for the poor.

British Empire expert Lorraine Fisher, 34, said: “Mr Rees-Mogg will make a fine Viceroy, protecting our interests in India and heading the East India Company.

“We need strong Victorian values in the British Empire and with Mr Rees-Mogg, the top hat fits.”

Mr Smog would have been well peed off and sunken into oblivion had May's deal got support elsewhere.. (ie remainers, labour??)
As it is he could easily be deputy PM in near future..
