Well that is ironic. You really are a funny creature snowflecc.

When @Zlatan argued the case that the EU wasn’t representative because of a lack of diversity you argued till you were blue in the face that he was wrong.

Now because it suits this argument you are saying the complete opposite!

Wow.

Your super power has let you down here hasn’t it.

Just wow. The bare faced cheek of it!
As I typed it I smiled knowing that you would undoubtedly pick up on this! However, I posted about greater diversity within MEP areas, not less as Zlatan was claiming.

You may also remember my saying that the democratic position was far from perfect, and also posting more than once that the larger the political unit, the more distant the democracy.

You know the saying, democracy is a very poor system, but it's the best we've got. I've even seem it fail miserably at parish level.

Sorry OG... It seems you do not get it. The EU is about citizenship of Europe. There is a huge difference between a servant of the state .. Civil Servants, Ambassadors, Soldier s ,Ministers ,who will be expected to defend the interests of the State and take an oath to defend it ..even lie or die for it and ordinary citizens. In the context of the EU, the MEP is either a citizen or a representative of their community..they are not a representative of their Government.
Now I have explained this three times, and I cannot make it clearer. It is my policy not to go over the same ground more than three times..
Fair enough when the EU becomes a superstate and we no longer have a situation where Parliament is sovereign I agree in principle with the spirit and word of your posts.

Till then we must disagree, but I do understand and accept the principle you expound.
Trying to square the circle of two governments vying for the same nation has got us where we are today.
Especially when the EU incarnation is virtually ignored by the press unless enemies of the EU among them have something critical to say.

Good luck arguing with Gerald.

He will never back down. And there is no use using numbers against him.

He hasn’t got a ******* clue what you’re talking about.
On the contrary at least unlike you can count to 7 and not get 8!
and what about this classic of yours?
"
I know maths isn't your best subject but to be ahead or level in 4 out 8 polls is not losing is it?

When in fact
Labour are ahead in FIVE,
one win for the Conservatives
and the BXP drew in one with the conservatives.

Yes indeed you do need luck in arguing with Gerald if you can't bring brains to bear!

Why didn’t we get a chance to...

Oh yeah. Brexit innit.

Although it is funny that in nearly fifty years we never got a sniff of the top job. Always a Francophile or German. Best we ever got was mushy peas Mandelson.
Oh yes, I’d forgotten that Lord Mangledbum had help an EU position. Wasn’t he involved in dodgy goings on? Something to do with mortgage irregularities?

There’s nothing like bringing a bit of balance into important decision via alternate opinions.
euroscepticism is represented by about 15% of MEPs and 3 heads of states + TM. Even those 3 believe in the union.
The centre of gravity in the EU is very much toward more integration, not less.

Are your policy documents available for reference? Your Ts & Cs? If you would be kind enough to let me know whereabouts they are located, I’ll ensure that I never accidentally stray there in case I die or boredom.

In fairness to OG, he may have been working to an old policy, one which permits four or more responses. How often are your policies reviewed and where is the list of amendments, revisions and supplements? How do any of us know if we are working to the latest policy? It’s a mine field.

Some people state the type of bike they ride as their signature. Could you use your latest policy reference as yours? It might help prevent silly mistakes like OG’s in the future.

The snag with that idea is that the people we supply with "alternative opinions" belong to a portion of the public you have described as "Work Shy" and about as balanced as anarchists, (except where there are expenses to be claimed.)

Here is the Daily Boris (Sorry Telegraph)
"Boris Johnson aims to put end to the 'nanny state' and its 'sin taxes' on food"

What has the UK done to deserve this cut price Trump wannabee?

An interesting policy from a right wing viewpoint.

Encourage the lower classes to eat and drink themselves into an early grave, presumably avoiding the expenses involved in caring for the elderly?
I think we are doing ok with regards encouraging people to eat themselves to death. There is an article in the news today suggesting that fatness has overtaken fags as a killer.

They are trying to kill even more people with this newly discovered food death. They want to hush it up because it upsets all the fat knackers in society. They’ve christened it “Fat Shame”. My goodness :)

Like he will have the time (personal, government or parliament) to do anything much other than handle brexit issues?

My argument against putting taxes on specific foods is the quality of the evidence.

A classic being the cholesterol content of food. Most of the cholesterol in our bodies is made in our own livers and not absorbed from diet. It is widely known that impaired levels of thyroid hormone can result in high levels of cholesterol. And that standard cholesterol tests do not actually measure cholesterol. Two factors that undermine and complicate the trite statements of many.

he is a mirror for the conservative membership, 0.5% of the electorate and 0.2% of the population.
I shudder at the idea that cool Britania is so cool as to make this empty brain their PM.

I operate to a simple policy of unrestricted debate

You can agree with some of the people all of the time
and all of the people some of the time
but I always agree with myself
no matter How often I try not to.
or how often I'm told I'm wrong.

Hope this clarifies the situation
