Time and time again you only read what you want to read.....Same Email twice. I have 4 Emails so could have voted 8 times....As for pushing this long dead issue, I was replying to Danidl's post ( is that not allowed) next time read the post I've replied to and not just what I've put. again I think you get a bit over excited.
Maybe you could have used multiple email addresses and posted a vote 2x multiple ..I don't know, but more importantly, neither do you. But I am not asserting that . There are more security checks possible than just the email . Unless you set up a dummy petition process ,and see the number of votes rising directly with your multiple addresses, .. you have not verified it. So its a simple question of put up or shut up.

Yes ,you can vote multiple times, but are they counted?. Neither you nor any of the other experts actually confirmed that. My background is to believe all and any of these theories, and then to confirm them by experiment
Your posts should contain a footnote warning not to drive or to operate heavy machinery for 24 hours after reading them.

Russian troll factories and Indian call centres have millions of email addresses. Millions.

The rate at which the petition was rising was too suspicious. Anyone with a brain knew the petition was dodgy. Even the Lib Dem’s....even the Lib Dem’s don’t quote the petition anymore.

Even the Lib Dem’s.

And they don’t come much thicker than them politically speaking.

According to fullfact.org, You could sign the petition twice using the same email address and as many times as you liked using different email addresses .
You could use any name you wanted and somebody signed using Mrs May and put their address as 10 Downing street.
It was also suggested Donald Duck and Micky Mouse signed.
If we assume it is so incredibly easy to fake votes, I find it extraordinary that the number ended up as a) believable; b) grew and stopped growing in a way that looked sensible.

Why hasn't anyone with untold millions of email addresses ramped the total up to 100,000,000 and demonstrated beyond doubt that it is trivial to fake?

Why hasn't anyone with votes that are valid or fake managed to get the brexit petitions up to at least similar levels?

It is arguable that fake voting would be against the Computer Misuse Act 1990.

Errr. Dont shoot yourself in the foot there old boy. As for thick politicians surely Vince Cable appears genius at side of Abbot and Corbyn?
Corbyn managed to fail A levels when you passed them if you got your name and date correct on exam paper.
Nobody failed A levels in late 60s,except Corbyn.

I think we're all curious to find out how come some people are 'gay'. That's what science is all about. Explaining stuff. Is it genetic as some claim (with almost no evidence) - or 'learned'.

Some interesting thoughts here:

"The answer, probably, is uterine, as with autism. As, in fact as with trans, female brains in male bodies and all that. Something requiring surgical intervention to correct. The foetus, and most especially the brain, is conditioned by vast waves of hormones that pump through it while in the womb, determining bits and pieces of development. These waves sometimes leading to development not the same as the majority. We’re really very certain this is true of autism, we know absolutely it’s the case for certain forms of intersex, it’s claimed to be true of much trans and, well, why not about same sex attraction? That's what she said - she said one day science may be able to explain it."

But. Of course some people just want to be offended by even having to consider the question.

Nothing new about that huh?

Being offended is a full time occupation for some people around here.
Asking a question, such as "What determines partner choice in humans?", is potentially interesting.

What Widdecombe said immediately places a judgement upon the choice.

You said: why not about same sex attraction. Again, whatever determines sex attraction is interesting but the same factors apply whether you include the word "same", or not. Factors that are present - or absent (in the simplest cases).

In many cases with politicians it is not exactly what they did or didnt say its the fact they are stupid enough to even go there. What had she got to gain commenting on such a contravertial topic? Nothing... but plenty to lose.
Its the skill of having statesmanship, she has demonstrated, like a whole host of our current politicians, that she has none. Walking straight into situations for no possible gain but putting lots at stake. Corbyn is a master at it. Knowing when to say nothing is as important as saying right thing when something must be said.
Why even comment on such a topic at this stage?

Why do you keep going on about this? it's of no consequence is it?
It didn't change a thing, the debate went ahead and nothing happened.

Everytime you or your ilk bring it up as a badge of honour I feel duty bound to remind you all of the facts.

It's a free fingers service.

You should be happy I live to give.

The whole purpose was to make it look plausible.

Unfortunately everyone with a smidgen of understanding could see it was fake. Didn’t the fact that it stopped once it got to a figure that pretty much matched what the real vote actually returned suggest a clumsy foreign influence?

I'd be happier if you didn't keep coming outwith nonsense, you have no proof of your assertion, have you, just the usual wishful thinking.
Desperate times for Brexit supporters, told we would be leaving the EU on the following Monday after the referendum and three years later still haven't left.

Thought for the day:

Standby for Corbyn & Khan to bring disgrace upon themselves when they address their army of benefits scrounging criminal scum. Normal decent people will be at work today, earning money to pay the taxes that this pair of ball-bags want to shovel into the pockets of their layabout followers.

This minority section of unemployable, uneducated, I’ll mannered, unwashed scum will no doubt be the focus of BBC news articles today. A tactic intended to deceive the viewing public into thinking that the type of antisocial, anti USA behaviour encouraged by Corbyn & Khan is mainstream. Well it’s not. It isn’t representative of the U.K. It’s a perversion created by the would-be Communist Theme Park proprietor and his comedy sidekick, the Clown Prince. I think the majority of ordinary decent people understand this, and hopefully the message that is reaching the USA is that The President is very welcome here.

My my, what a performance !
All so diplomatic too, you want to approve President Trump because we owe them a debt for saving our necks in the second world war? and anyone who protest belongs to this group
" army of benefits scrounging criminal scum. This minority section of unemployable, uneducated, I’ll mannered, unwashed scum "

Let me remind you of something.
In both world wars the USA was happy to deliberately bleed this country dry selling it arms in the full and certain knowledge and intent that this would weaken us, then only came in when our ability to pay had reached rock bottom.

As to rescuing the nation, the Red Army was easily the most important in Germanys defeat, but we don't welcome Russian leaders because we don't approve of their politics, do we, and that's quite the right thing to do.

The same applies to Trump his list of wrong doings and complete stupidity are a menace to peace.
He is quite simply unfit to be in the position he is, and certainly should not be treated as anything other that a dangerous nut case
No he is not welcome here, why should he be ?
And you should be less arrogant and scornful about our own people
They have a right to express their opinion without your approval.

I think they are wasting their time it won't achieve anything, but that is their choice to make, isn't it?
Or would you prefer a police state like China?

Whilst I can't agree that they are all scum (that's ridiculous) I would be interested to hear the answer to the question "how did you manage to get time off work today" (to the ones of working age)
Agreed, not all are scum, there will be a percentage that are mentally ill and therefore not entirely responsible for their actions. :)

The rest won’t have any need to ask for time off work. They will either absent themselves without notice, will have chosen to live off the efforts of others via benefits, or they will be unemployable due to their character.

When the Trump thing has run its course, they will move onto the pretence of dire poverty. Another excuse not to wash and to engage in antisocial behaviour. This time with the potential of a bonus in the form of a pay rise, so expect more participants.
