Hey for the rest of you - just so you know - I am not some Apple nut. I've got a DELL PC for work but I do have an Apple laptop - still use a Nokia phone. But this cr ap from OG the way he paints the whole company as some dark satanic force - the guy is a nut-job.

Overpriced? Then tell me OJ how come on the SECOND HAND market on say ebay Apple products hold their value so well. HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT? Even 3 year old Apple Airs hold their value at around £400+. If it was a cr ap product how could that be?

OG is our resident freak. A sad creature in many ways - but - they you have it.
throughout industrial history companies have used dodgy practice and abused workers and their customers, but in the end that's how progress happens. Where would we have been without coal or oil. They were great gamechangers. Now it's the tech companies.

OG - nobody here but you thinks Google, FB and Apple are only ripping people off.

Just you.

YOU are the freak here.

Freaks think things like that.

They also believe nobody ever landed on the moon.

And that the FBI set up 911.

And that Elvis still lives

Take a look in the mirror.

That's you.

You're the freak.
let me put it this way very few people are stupid enough not to see that these companies do rip people off, their misdeeds are in the news often enough
What does that say for your judgement?
I deal in the truth, something you can't abide
All of the companies mentioned abuse the trust of the public, who are too lazy to actually check.
And you are clearly one of those aren't you?
Too lazy to actually find out what is going on, and morally bankrupt enough not to care.
Why have you posted the ramblings of your weird imagination and attributed them to me?
And then call me a freak?
And you a Conservative, a class that thinks they were born to rule...
You should be ashamed making yourself look foolish as you have
But then you do that every time you post

Read the History of the Industrial Revolution before thinking this is the way progress is made, how many lives were wasted and destroyed before the workers joined together and fought against the abuses.
Your sort of thinking results in putting the clock back to those dark times

OK. Let's take a vote.

Who here - believes along with OG that all these three companies do is rip off the British Public and avoid tax?

Who would like to go first?
How did the vote go?
Who agreed that these three companies do not rip off the British public by using their private data for their own purposes
And who agreed they pay the tax they should? :D

How do I explain the fake values of Apple phones? are you really too dim to see how that works?
Lets put it back to you , how do you explain the ridiculous mark up they apply because of an extra gimmick or two over the competition?
And then hold value when it is obsolete and left behind by cheaper competitors?
The answer is obvious and has nothing to do with Quality
Because there are mugs willing to pay a premium so they can boast to their simple minded friends they have a fashionable item.
And you praise the company for mugging the public because it can get away with it.
Your ideas are a menace to society
You know the price of everything and the value of nothing, just another rip off artist
intent on mugging the public

What I do not get about Brexit still is the 39 bn pounds they want from us. Where is the breakdown for a start. And also the analogy oft used about this being a divorce settlement surely means we keep access to the kids. The kids being Galileo, freedom of movement and zero trade tariffs etc. What we've born and raised together. This is why May couldn't get the deal through ultimately. What on earth are we paying all that money for?

No - you are making a fool of yourself.

Or rather you just showed yourself up.

As in.... you wrote:

"All any of them do is rip off the British public and avoid tax"

(When talking about Google, FB and Apple).

Thats freak talk.

Nobody here believes that.

But you.

YOU are the freak.
As I said before you stopped talking sense long ago to believe such nonsense
What a comedian this is the reality
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2019/feb/05/apple-to-pay-10-years-of-back-taxes-to-france
"
American tech firms such as Apple have been heavily criticised for the small amounts of tax they pay in EU countries including France and the UK relative to the billions of pounds in sales they report in these states.

The chancellor, Philip Hammond, recently announced plans to introduce a special digital services tax by 2020 on online firms making more than £500m globally per year. It’s expected that the tax would raise more than £400m annually for government coffers.

Calling me a Freak won't change the truth, you are lying

Sorry ,but I disagree. The Apple products are very good..There are better but they do hit a combination of quality and consumer envy and so get this premium boost . Hey that is what a free market about. I don't care that people pay over the top for a luxury product.

You do realise rather than asking us you can check this for yourself, don't you?
Look up the Budgets and agreements we made and the periods covered and then you can decide on actual evidence whether the sum is fair or not.
Have you even bothered to look?
It can be found on the EU websites

Even though there is a history of human rights abuses and suicides in the FoxCom factories where they are made?
That is still ongoing?
You may as well say this
"Hey that is what a free market about. I don't care that people suffer for a luxury product."
Sorry, not for me

Their phones are far inferioir to Huawei. By a long way.

This is why I believe Trump, or Trumps handlers have barred other companies from allowing use of google apps. They haven't banned Honor from using google. I wonder why....A Chinese phone manufacturer just not a very good one.

Huawei blows apple out of the water so they change the goal posts.

That is a different argument. Careful OG, that type of gatepost moving is what a few others from the brexiteer brigade are famous for. We would not want to follow them there.

About half of that covers our subscription for the implementation period.

  • £16.4bn (€18.5bn) towards the UK’s contribution to the EU budget to 2020 (after offsetting for the UK rebate);
  • £18.2bn (€20.2bn) towards outstanding commitments for projects that have been signed off but not yet paid for by 2020 (The Reste à Liquider ("RAL") from successive Multiannual Financial Frameworks) to be paid up to 2028; and
  • £2.5bn (€2.7bn) for other financial liabilities, being an estimate for pension liabilities of €9.5bn offset by other assets totalling €6.8bn. The payments towards the pension liabilities are estimated to be made until 2064.

Interesting. Thank you.

So in reality the 'divorce' bill is nearer to 18bn. Remain parties should highlight this. I do think we could have made a better deal over this though.

that's correct. The estimated £18 billions for the RAL need to be paid in the period 2020-2025. It's not a big amount.
The main problem is the NI backstop. The DUP can't accept to be treated like an EU country while being part of the UK.

Who will pick our fruit because Brexit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hear you scream.

Relax. We got this.

How many workers could you employ before it became economic to use a robot on the sort of fields where we grow fruit?
So all the small growers go to the wall and only mass producers survive.. or more likely no one buys the robots.

Facebook is great:

Finding missing persons - Just the job for those who want to murder someone, missing people can't be additionally missed.

Finding children - Just the job for paedophiles.

Finding dogs - Handy for the travellers who steal dogs to sell them.

Finding out what mates had for lunch - No use for anyone.
.
great for creaming off private data for running psi ops campaigns with targetted adverts to individuals you have profiled to subvert referendums

it will be a few years before fruit pickers should feel threatened.
At the moment, those robots can only pick raspberries at the rate of one a minute.
