It’s about principles and not lying to people.
I don't think Chuka hides it. He just does not talk about it.
A few years back, I asked my journalist daughter why Chuka pulled out of the Labour leadership contest, she said 'he does not want his mother feel hurt when his sexuality is vilified in the right wing press'.

Maybe. Although I heard he didn't want to stand not because of the press but because of the Nigerian side of his family.

You can still be arrested for being gay in Nigeria.

Either way. If you want to be an MP and represent people then the least we can ask for is honesty.

Coming out is a private affair for any individual but he is not a private individual. He is entitled to a private life if course. But I want MPs to have the courage of their convictions. What is wrong with being gay?

I don’t believe he pulled out of the leadership contest for that reason.

Can you imagine it.

Why didn't you want to be prime minister?

Because my mum.
why is it not a good enough reason? we live in an imperfect world.
Maybe he will fight Corbyn for the leadership now.
a generation or two from now, this sort of things won't matter anymore.

Honda to leave Swindon plant in 2022,3500 jobs lost....probably the start of the auto industry exiting the UK....I wonder how many of the 3500 voted for Brexit.
Today the Japanese announced they were unhappy receiving the hurry up from Fox and Hunt, warning the UK will not get such a good trade deal as the Jap to EU deal, not surprising we dont have the same clout.
Brexit just gets better every day, hehe !!!!!

It's actually 2021 according to the latest from the BBC Dave.

This is only the first and it's as I forecast long ago. I believe PSA (Peugeot/Vauxhall), Toyota and Nissan will follow in due course.

It doesn’t matter if he is gay. Why should that be a factor? I don’t think anyone really pays much attention to a person’s sexuality these days.

At the time of his bowing out, I discussed the reasons with colleagues and we thought there was a likelihood of cupboard doors opening to reveal skeletons, and that was the reason. He seemed like the obvious choice at the time, but something other than his sexual preferences stopped him.

Don`t let the facts get in the way

Mr Tomlinson said: "Honda are clear this is based on global trends and not Brexit, as all European market production will consolidate in Japan in 2021."

The car industry has also been struggling with falling demand in China and a slowdown in diesel sales.

Honda's Swindon plant produces both VTEC turbo petrol engines and diesel i-DTEC engines.

The writing is on the wall for every car manufacturer - the trend is clearly towards pure Electric and Hybrid vehicles - why continue making something that has had it`s day?

20223500! That’s a lot of jobs. I had no idea.

Seriously, jobs is the dominant concern that I have regarding Brexit.

The European Union
Trump loves all you brexiters. Anything that is against the EU he loves. Question is does he hate the EU more than he loves Venezuela's oil?

Its painful isn't it?

Forget the fact that all new diesel cars are banned in Europe by 20 30 and us in 2040 it's because of Brexit.

Still a huge loss for the people concerned of course but hopefully because of the notice given people have a chance to get duck lined up.

Tomlinson would say that, other's comments are that Brexit is a factor. And Honda do make hybrids and have been far less dependent on diesel sales than most of their competition, so those are not big factors.

And of course Nissan have said that Brexit was a factor in cancelling the plans to build the X-Trail at Sunderland, while PSA plans to integrate Opel/Vauxhall into it's French production, a process that has already started.

Honda is only the start.
