Brexit The Uncivil War: Viewers SWITCH OFF as Benedict Cumberbatch takes lead role
BREXIT: THE UNCIVIL WAR aired tonight, but for many who had tuned in to watch it, threatened to switch off or turn over the channel minutes into the two-hour special.
" It’s just more biased Remoaners nonsense I bet! #BrexitTheUncivilWar.”
Said one.
Even thought the show glossed over the use of illegal funds it still offended the Brexiteers

A stirring message from a Journalist who lives in France

Where is this Nazi Tyranny we are supposedly going to fight?

Truly this idiot must regard Brexit voters as imbeciles, with his comparison of fighting Nazism and tyranny to the EU

It’s Project Oh Dear! ROBERT HARDMAN watches as only 86 lorries join a no-deal traffic jam test (which drivers brand a 'complete waste of time')
This was not so much Project Fear as Project Oh Dear. Contingency plans for a No Deal lorry log-jam at Dover were being road-tested – quite literally – on the approaches to our busiest Channel port yesterday.

Half the expected trucks failed to appear while many of the participating hauliers dismissed it as ‘a joke’.
The exercise achieved a rare outbreak of harmony between prominent Remainers and Brexiteers, with both sides condemning it as ‘a waste of time’.
None the less, the people with the clipboards and the hi-vis bibs were very pleased with their dry run on the roads between a new standby lorry park at the disused Manston airport and the gates of the ferry terminal at Dover 20 miles away.
A Downing Street spokesman said the Prime Minister was ‘satisfied’ with the result.

Well I did wonder what the point of it all was. I suppose if they managed to get a few shots of thick coppers made good, shirt sleeves rolled up, preposterous peaked caps at a jaunty angle & looking on top of it all, then at least it’s not been a total waste of time, money and resources. Just mostly a waste of all three.

I watched over half and then something happened so did not see the end. However, I thought the remain camp individuals hardly came out very well.

Benedict C looked pretty good at the end of the table and in distance shots, but close-up he was always rather BC and I couldn't suppress that. Not a criticism of him.

“More than 50 MPs have called on the head of Britain's largest police force to improve their response to abusive protesters outside Parliament.
Writing to Met Police commissioner Cressida Dick, the MPs cited "serious concerns" about the "deteriorating public order and security situation".

Hang on a minute. Shouldn’t they be writing to the PM, for it was she as Home Secretary who made the cuts to policing which have caused this type of delayed response. Repeatedly saying her cuts will not affect front line policing. MPs also voted through her reforms to policing.

If a reduction in service is good enough for the public, then it’s certainly good enough for the wasted spare body parts which haunt Westminster. Let the protesters continue unabated, let the MPs experience first hand what they inflict on the country as a whole.

I found the script excellent.
The government position was a sitting duck.
Pretty accurate telling of recent history.

I’m afraid it’s a case of, if the Jackboots and slash-peaked cap fits.........
you may change that view if you are the target for similar abuses.

Many on here have been subject to similar abuse and worse by the staunch remain supporters. It doesn’t make it right, but as I say, if the Jackboots fit.......

apparently Farage is regularly subjected to abuse/ spitting/threats etc by the saintly left, but very rarely reported or any action taken.

Yes. I very much enjoyed it too.

It made some valid points, some not so but it was entertaining.

I thought they gave Craig Oliver a very good showing. He really is another establishment thicko. I very much doubt he would know how to make fishfingers and mash potato.

It really was an amazing victory. Once in a lifetime. No wonder the losers want a do over.

Good point. It doesn’t seem to matter when some people are subject to abuse or even a very real threat of violence. The abuse levelled against Soubry is nothing by comparison to that Farage experienced. It doesn’t make either course of action correct, but there has to be consistency when dealing with it.

Strange how none of the Soubry stuff was picked up on audio. None that I can find anyway.

two wrongs don't make it right. However, physical, racial, sexual orientation, age abuses are prohibited by laws whereas accusing somebody of being thick and mislaid isn't.
I wasn't particularly worried about the 'nazi' label that you could hear clearly on the BBC clip, it's other threats what they would do to her body that annoyed me. These shouts justify many unpleasant epithets that brexiters are labelled with.

I said right at the start that it doesn’t make it right. That was the clue, but you missed it either intentionally or because you have reading difficulties. The point is, there has to be a consistency in the approach to taking action against abuse and there isn’t. When it’s levelled against some people, it’s ok, and when it’s against others, it’s not ok. That is the real issue.

this time, the government is defending brexit and the people's vote campaign wages a guerilla war.
If there is a common denominator, one could say that guerilla warfare won it.

I refer to my previous post, I disagree with your statement:
She has done this to herself sadly.
If you agree that this wasn't right then blaming her is an excuse for the abuse.
