Brexit, for once some facts.

I’m afraid that OG’s logic doesn’t fit in the box or the space outside the box. It belongs in another dimension yet to be discovered.
Surely this Brexit thread is that other dimension, judging by the strangely unfamiliar nature of much of the posting in here.

One can see how it's time-space continuum is warped, jumping the pages up and down when someone like Tom tries to add anything unusual to it.

Perhaps we are witnessing a new form of Theory to replace "String" theory?
I shall write an explanatory guide book

"Thread Theory For Dummies offers an accessible introduction to this highly mathematical "theory of everything," which posits ten or more dimensions in an attempt to explain the basic nature of Brexit, causes and catastrophic effects.

It will of course as a bonus ponder the basic basic nature of matter and energy. Written for both students and people interested in science, (and the confusion of Trolls) this guide explains concepts, discusses the Thread theory′s hypotheses and predictions, and presents the math in an approachable manner.
It features in–depth examples and an easy–to–understand style so that readers can understand this controversial, cutting–edge theory.

Suitable video and graphic examples will be provided for the enlightenment of the less mentally athletic readers.

Bit of a surprise here. Perhaps my previous suggestion that parliament/select committees were supine fired them up?

Parliament seizes cache of Facebook internal papers

Documents alleged to contain revelations on data and privacy controls that led to Cambridge Analytica scandal

Parliament has used its legal powers to seize internal Facebook documents in an extraordinary attempt to hold the US social media giant to account after chief executive Mark Zuckerberg repeatedly refused to answer MPs’ questions.

The cache of documents is alleged to contain significant revelations about Facebook decisions on data and privacy controls that led to the Cambridge Analytica scandal. It is claimed they include confidential emails between senior executives, and correspondence with Zuckerberg.

Damian Collins, the chair of the culture, media and sport select committee, invoked a rare parliamentary mechanism to compel the founder of a US software company, Six4Three, to hand over the documents during a business trip to London. In another exceptional move, parliament sent a serjeant at arms to his hotel with a final warning and a two-hour deadline to comply with its order. When the software firm founder failed to do so, it’s understood he was escorted to parliament. He was told he risked fines and even imprisonment if he didn’t hand over the documents.

“We are in uncharted territory,” said Collins, who also chairs an inquiry into fake news. “This is an unprecedented move but it’s an unprecedented situation. We’ve failed to get answers from Facebook and we believe the documents contain information of very high public interest.”

A previous Guardian story which refers to the same company (as I didn't recognise the name):

You really are a disgusting person, vilifying someone you've never communicated with and who you know nothing about.

Robdon is a valued member of exactly five years standing as of this month. He has posted 263 times, 8 times in this Brexit thread, the remainder helpfully on e-biking matters.

He is of course a remainer but has referred to the older major contributors in here as "the resident old codgers".

He showed his sense of humour again with probably the funniest post in this Brexit thread, here it is

I think in clicking his feelings about other's posts he shows a lot of intelligence, why spend ages bashing away at a keyboard when a simple click says what he wants to?

Pmsl!

Look at the white knight riding into the mutes honour.

So brave. So ruddy ruddy brave.

I salute you sir.

The defendor of sheep should be your sigil.

You are a king amongst men.

Kudos.

Finally something that I can happily agree with with Mr Dobbs of the DUP.
In his speech he said "it was not to late, we don't have to accept the deal."

I of course hoped he was then going to recommend that Mrs May seek to withdraw the withdrawal... . But that is where he entered the magic thinking zone again.

A very unlikely headline in the Independent this morning
"
Brexit: High Court to rule if referendum vote ‘void’ as early as Christmas.

The High Court will rule as early as Christmas whether Brexit should be declared “void”, in a legal case given a turbo-boost by the criminal investigation into Leave funder Arron Banks.

Judges are poised to fast track the potentially explosive challenge, after Theresa May’s refusal to act on the growing evidence of illegality in the 2016 referendum campaign, The Independent can reveal.

Lawyers describe that failure as “absolutely extraordinary” – given the National Crime Agency’s (NCA) probe into suspicions of “multiple” criminal offences committed by Mr Banks and the Leave.EU campaign.

Now that would be a perfect Christmas Present for the Entire population of the UK (Including the Leave Voters if there still are any)

The European Union
BBC:
Police in Paris have used tear gas and water cannon to disperse protesters demonstrating for a second weekend against rising fuel prices.

Maybe life outside the EU isn’t so bad.
Protesters with big tattoos of Marine Le Pen on their biceps... France has extreme right wing louts AND extreme left wing louts, the extreme left wing louts don't appear to be interested in rising diesel prices...

But the fuel prices are not the EU's doing. It's the French government unfairly hurting their provincial population who are most affected by the high prices, provoking the protests.

Macron is really falling out of favour now. I liken him to Tony Blair, suddenly popping up with a supposed new way to ensure a better future, but their new ways later exposed as baseless deceit.
.
He was a banker, you can't expect him to flip on the error of "liberal" politics. He was supposed to blunt the sharp edge so that the less well off didn't get their throats cut but it isn't working. At least he hasn't brought in zero hour contracts although he did menace doing so at one time.

- Diesel was subsidised years ago so the poor all have diesel cars.
- they can't afford housing prices (rent let alone buying) near their place of work so they need their cars
- because there is no decent public transport any more outside of large cities

Situation resumed in three points :D

I reckon about 45% would still vote to leave.

Finding the HOC Sergeant at Arms in a persuasive mood unexpectedly filling your doorway must have made the individual involved feel like he was being invited to step outside by Darth Vader.

Delightful!:)

Agreed but as I have said many times, when it comes to a vote they aren't worth the effort of trying to convert.
It would simply be a case of wasted effort
