Brexit, for once some facts.

I'm referring to the article, which says the number of jobs dropped by 12% in twelve months due to BREXIT. This is worded in the past tense, implying that it has already happened. Of course, this is impossible because (1)we have not exired yet and (2) the decision to leave was only taken two months ago.

This is the equivalent of saying that my electricity bills over the past 12 months increased dramatically because from tomorrow onwards, I intend to leave my oven permanently switched on. It's just a load of nonsense!
But there has been an atmosphere of uncertainty for the past 12 months leading up the Referendum, so it simply isn't possible to discount that as a factor, though not perhaps a particularly significant one, and of course if the rise was mainly during the last month compared to the previous ones, that would add credence to the claim.

"
London slipped from fourth place to tenth in the Schroders Global Cities 30 index, as a result of the U.K.'s vote to leave the European Union.

The index, compiled by Schroders for the first time and released Tuesday, looks at a range of factors, including the projected growth of the economy, disposable incomes over the next decade and the size of the working population. London had been initially ranked in fourth place but the Brexit vote led to a reassessment by the British asset management firm.

The index assesses and ranks the growth and future prospects of 161 global cities and has seen China's mega-cities take three of the top five places. Shanghai topped the index followed by New York in second place, Tianjin (also in China) in third and Beijing in fourth place."

Hmmm! Confidence is not so good is it?

brexit is bound to arouse suspicion from around the world.
It's like the USA voting for Trump.

Pretty much all the UK cycle industry distributors have now been forced to put their prices up. I'm sure you've read about Raleigh doing it, but emails from others have gone out in recent days: Paligap , Velobrands , Bob Elliot and 2Pure already, and of course there is the whooping increase to Shimano pricing .

10% seems to be the minimum increase , Schwalbe has gone up by 17%!!
It strikes me as rather strange that @trex has "liked" this post. Why would anyone "like" the fact that prices have increased? I could understand "agree" or "informative" but, "like"?

Does this provide a glimpse of a peevish disposition brought about by the exit vote I wonder?

I partially agree with the post. Car, TVs, white goods prices have not gone up as much.

I dont really mind the financial impact either,in part because I feel as an African that I can live a pretty good life on relatively little in Europe. But generally we talk here as if there will be a happy ending,an EU that accepts a still intact UK back into the fold after a rough patch. I think that could not happen (why would the EU want a disruptive xenophobic UK back),then once the economy tanks properly a rapid dissolution of the union, then in the crap aftermath more far right racism. It could all get very ugly and quite terminal
Woulf you believe

who do you think should replace Carney? and could that person have done any different?
Carney's doing a great job. Brexiters have a problem with reality, and it includes the drastic growth deficit he as one of the few adults at the table is trying to deal with. Its unsurprising leave voters want to shoot the messenger. If any of that offended you ms flud,my apologies, and can i recomend that you titrate the lithiumcarbonate?

Not sure what this is about. I've never seen anyone reply to their own post before.

I suppose the banning could have resulted from your accusation that the people of the UK are xenophobic and disruptive.

still struggling with the reading, huh? Or is this that recurring attempt to accuse others of racism? Interesting that. I said the UK in its relationship with the EU has been xenophobic and disruptive. However, if the shoe fits you are most welcome to wear it.

I have absolutely no idea what you are saying. Sorry.
You and I have had this conversation before, and in both cases you are being ingenuous, aren't you?
You are far too smart a cookie to use the old nil comprende routine

With an obvious talent for "spin" you could make a killing writing for the Ministers with the doubtful sobriquet "Three Brexiteers"
He didn't say that, did he?

This is Tillson's standard response when he has painted himself into a corner, don't fall for it!
in a parallel world you should have become a group therapist instead of an engineer.
OK Tillson, its fine to respond in the "non comprehendos" way as part of painting yourself into a corner. I also paint myself into corners, often, we all do, it's fine. However, it must be said the UK has been a bloody difficult neighbour to the EU, very often, and acknowledging that its been that, as a country, isn't a reflection on all of its nationals, of which I am one.
