The builder changes bricks almost house by house! Very, very slowly built over many years and seems to choose an approximate colour then gets the best deal he can.

But with a border in the Irish Sea we might yet be deprived of NI bricks!
It will take a lot of bricks to build that wall ,i think the irish sea is about 100 ft deep,so the amount of deadwork even before they hit the surface will make the london underground seem like childsplay.

Tommie, here is a question you might be able to answer. I noticed a number of placards issued by SF on the Malone Rd, saying .. hard brexit brought to you by DUP, UUP and
others including People before Profit. .. my question is why the last named party?

Might be getting all confused here, but as a border, an Irish Sea wall would have to lie about north-south. So will be very, very long as well!

Perhaps it would be better to build it right across the Irish Sea and incorporate generators. That might at least provide some brexit bonus.

The top of the wall could replicate the M-whatever in Kent and act as a huge lorry park...

Add a shared use path and we'd love to ride across. (Make sure it doesn't make landfall in NI where ebikes are not allowed, of course.)

But throughout we've had a very clear majority for Remain with a far greater margin than the referendum had.

That's an agreement.
.
that may be the result of remainers feeling the need to explain why it's better to remain whereas brexiters can't see the point of remaining so can't be bothered with point by point arguments.

But leavers never really understood the point of leaving did they, so how can they be expected to explain something they never really understood?

Here you are Tommie, those sums are peanuts against what you'll end up paying for this lot

And what's the point of spending money on rebuilding a Primark store that wll go the way of the rest of the High street?
How will you benefit from that?

leavers only need to understand some of the issues of remaining, that's enough for them to decide that they'll take the chance to escape those issues.
Remainers have never explained satisfactorily how the EU intend to solve those issues (refugees, mass migration, ever increasing EU budget, discrepancies in healthcare and benefit systems, Schengen and the Eurozone, unemployment in Southern countries, Ukraine, Turkey, enlargement, EU army, EU common foreign policy after unsatisfactory CAP, CFP etc).

Remainers don't have to do they? it isn't worth the effort.
We have explained on here many times that immigration is an overblown issue and proved we are opted out of most of the rest of the things you mentioned that so concern the leave voters.

And frankly many of the items on the list are beyond the comprehension of someone who never bothers to check for facts before accepting notions put into their heads, just what would be the point of trying to explain CAP, CFP to someone who has no intention of understanding?

You speak of the EU sorting out a problem with refugees, that's rich considering that the actions of our Government with it's involvement in proxy wars and Gun running for want of a better word are a major contributory cause of the problem, why aren't we sorting out the problem we helped cause never mind the EU doing it?
Do you think the leave voters understand that?

They decided to take a chance of leaping from a situation they completely failed to understand into one they have even less chance of comprehending.

Are you seriously suggesting leavers actually understand the issues of remaining? did I waste my time posting about immigration earlier today to put this so called mountain of a problem in the Public imagination into the proper context?
They have no more idea of what we gain from being in the EU than a newborn child, just a lifetime of propaganda skewing their so called understanding.
Not their fault, apart from the fact they are far too easily led.

You can't undo the damage already done, all you can do is warn them, which we have, and sit back and watch them learn the hard way.
Who knows? they might face reality when they have no choice.

Just a point on the Budget.
The Environment took a drubbing
Caroline Lucas‏Verified account @CarolineLucas

Hidden away in #Budget2018 is possible £3bn tax break for oil and gas companies in the North Sea - yet another blank cheque for the dirty fossil fuel industry whilst clean, renewable energy is ignored.

She tried to make a point, it was a waste of time.
She failed to understand this simple fact of life
The wheels of Brexit need oiling (as do certain palms) as evidenced in Tommies post

do you watch escape to the country?
that would illustrate why middle England voted to leave and it's not just to escape the rat race and pollution of London and large cities.

SF and the truth are as you know complete strangers. People before Profit are socialists and pro remain, but their candidate for West Belfast, Carroll, dumped one of the SF candidates out in a recent Assembly election so that didn`t go down at all well in a SF heartland.
SF offices at Connolly House have a room full of various ready-made placards, every demonstration will see a plethora of SF activists comforting and siding with the aggrieved no matter what the cause. LGBT rights and the oppressed Palestinian people are a couple of the their more popular ones........ lets hope those two demos don`t fall on the same saturday !!!

Bottom lines is its --> `VOTES`

It wasn't the EU that invoked Article 50, was it?

Flights could be disrupted after Brexit, Chris Grayling admits

Transport secretary says EU would be to blame for any turmoil for not starting talks

Flights could be disrupted after Brexit, the transport secretary has admitted, but he said the European commission would be to blame for not starting talks on a deal to keep planes in the air.

Chris Grayling told an aviation conference that disruption was “unlikely” but that talks to secure an aviation agreement had not yet started with only five months to the date of Britain’s departure. He added: “That process is not in our hands.”

Grayling said there was “no way that flights will stop” between the UK and the EU, but there appeared to be a marked change in tone from previous speeches in which he had described planes being grounded after Brexit as inconceivable.

Quite clearly the Government is preparing the Propaganda campaign for Brexit: the Victory, by bribing the public with "New fully retractable Tax Cuts" into seeing any Deal they can cobble up as being the only way to hang onto the "Dosh"

After all bribery worked on the nut jobs of the DUP who despite claiming they would vote against this Budget, only needed a few extra quid or so to sell their loyalty and principles.

So, follows the Tory logic, you can buy the Bexiteers into thinking this Wrexit they are pursuing is what was promised all along.

In this they are as usual delusional, as the attention span of the Brexit voters will be knocked off course as soon as Boris or Moggie give voice to their spleen

Even the Daily Right wing rags haven't fallen for it.
