Do you folks ever wonder if your in some kind of bad dream and that you will wake up and Brexit, Trump and the Skripal poisoning were the results of too much cheese before bed and today everything is back to normal and the world hasn't really gone insane.
It's not properly organised enough to be a nightmare, more like proof that to create real chaos needs the sort of inverted talent only a very amateur religious cult that worship a vengeful god of Greed can sell to a gullible public.

Second Kent motorway is possible post-Brexit lorry park

M26 earmarked as holding lane for HGVs if customs checks into EU become necessary
Work has started on turning a second motorway in Kent into a potential post-Brexit lorry park to deal with tailbacks to the Channel Tunnel and ports should customs checks have to be introduced.

The M26 will remain closed through the night until next week as Highways England carry out site surveys and then again for more than a month before Christmas to install gates in the central reservation.

The start of the work was not disclosed to the local Conservative MP, Tom Tugendhat, who criticised the transport secretary, Chris Grayling, for apparently reneging on assurances. Grayling said he was confident that the contingency measure would not be needed after Brexit.

OK - so the M26 is hardly paradise... :(:)

"Grayling said he was confident that the contingency measure would not be needed after Brexit." They wouldn't be needed at all without brexit. Pretty damned obviously.

F-35 jets: US military grounds entire fleet
But the MOD said F-35 flight trials from the aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth, were continuing and the programme remained on schedule to provide UK armed forces with "a game-changing capability".

Game changing capability it certainly is! not merely stealthy this plane destroys itself!

Who said built in obsolescence was an idea that had had it's day?, this is nearly as a good a sales gimmick as the long lamented Starfighter employed, it had such a bad safety record the the German airforce said if you wanted to own one you just had to buy a plot of land in the area where the luftwaffe operated them and one was sure to drop in sooner or later.
Another colossal waste of taxpayers money.

Just saw this ridiculous story! How much time, money and effort are going into this fiasco?

Irish cheesemaker stockpiling cheddar in case of no-deal Brexit
Ornua, owner of Kerrygold and Pilgrims Choice brands, says it is preparing for uncertainty

Lisa O'Carroll in Dublin

The Irish dairy company behind well-known brands such as Kerrygold has started stockpiling cheddar in the UK to guard against the risk of a major price hike for Britain’s favourite cheese in the event of a no-deal Brexit.

World Trade Organization tariffs on cheddar are as high as 42%, but Irish cheese manufacturers fear sales would plummet in British supermarkets if it passed on the full extra cost to the consumer.

Ornua, formerly called the Irish Dairy Board, which also owns the Pilgrims Choice and Dubliner brands, has confirmed that it is building up stores of cheddar in warehouses in Britain and Ireland to ensure that its product can both get to supermarket shelves and beat any shock price hike if Britain crashes out of the bloc on 29 March.

Wondering if this was in part behind the large investment in our local cheese factory?

From the beginning the many years of the F35 development has been plagued with problems and it's ended up the most expensive aeroplane in history.

Even in the later stages Congress wanted to pull the plug on it since it was costing so much and proving so unreliable.

Just as well we haven't got to defend ourselves against anyone at present, begging the question, why were we building aircraft carriers and buying in these aircraft to just decay over time like Polaris and Trident?

One word answer, stupidity.

So long as Liz Kendall is in that bed then I’m fine.

Tax chief received death threats over Brexit cost estimate
Jon Thompson says he has changed routes to work after backlash to £20bn appraisal
This is unfortunately a sign of the times
"Nicky Morgan, the chair of the Treasury committee, told PoliticsHome it was “appalling that a public servant should be threatened for doing his job”. “I am sure Mr Thompson considered what he said very carefully. As someone who has also been threatened, it is deeply concerning that this is what Brexit seems to have done to public life,” she said.
Following a Daily Telegraph front-page story in December which described Tory MPs who voted against the government’s Brexit plans as “mutineers”, Anna Soubry and Dominic Grieve received dozens of threats.

Rhodri Philipps was jailed for 12 weeks in July 2017 after offering money for someone to kill the Brexit transparency campaigner Gina Miller.

And the response?
Barnier ended his speech at 36 min 00 sec. He got a long standing applause from representatives of EU businesses.

Now we heard from the Adults we have to wait for what the kiddies will do in response

Thought for the day

I find it inconceivable that 12 weeks is adequate as both a punishment and, what is so often touted, a deterrent.

Possibly we should bring back banishment? If it is good enough for innocent Windrush scandal people, and that has been the effect of the policies implemented if not in name, it could be used inventively for such as this creep. Like include free transport to, umm, DRC.

Then this from 'oyster':

I find it inconceivable that 12 weeks is adequate as both a punishment and, what is so often touted, a deterrent.
Now think back to the vicious murder of Jo Cox MP on the streets of Britain, in broad daylight. The tory propaganda organs couldn't get rid of that story from their front pages quick enough and in the end it was all ameliorated by their expressions from tory-supporting journalists and assorted 'experts' that it was just a one-off, a 'lone-wolf' incident by a mentally-deranged individual.

They painted a picture for the public's consumption that it was not in any way attributable to the rabble-rousing speeches from Farage, Johnson and all those other tory clowns who thought they were on a winner by their promises about ending immigration and expelling thousands of foreign people already living here.

We saw the result of deliberate anti-EU and anti-foreigner dialogue when the fascist fringe groups took to the streets with their banners because they saw these despicable right-wing extremist politicians as the reincarnation of the nazi-style jingoism that created the holocaust. The only thing missing was brown shirts or perhaps as homage to a previous generation of British fascists, black ones. These new inverted 'messiahs' were responsible for and continue to be responsible for the kind of extremism encapsulated by the murder of Jo Cox and the 'Windrush' scandal as well as the aforementioned threats to kill in order to bully their way through to secession from the EU for their own ends.

President Donald Trump stunned into silence as Kanye West launches into 10-minute rant on visit to the White House
West talked about the economy, "stop and frisk", North Korea, China, women and spreading love through the country.

Is this really the way to run a country? I thought I was watching an episode of Monty Python's flying Circus.
