There is only a small chance that JC can revive our industries. The issues for the 21st century are very different: industry is going to be knowledge based and education is the key. Of course our top universities are very competitive, but in a whole, the rest is very much middle ranking.
the problem is we are already neck deep in debts. JC's approach may just about drowning us unless he can find a way to work with foreign investors. In any case, we have to be weaned from relying on the banking sector.
.. it is never too late. There is a really beautiful and hopeful song by a Scottish group the Poozies called Another Train. ,which starts with the words ..The Beginning is now.... YouTube might oblige.

He’s a crooked politician. And I’m not including his ‘bad back’

We sent our version. Mandelson.
..Was that in reference to competent or crooked?. We had in Ireland a few decades ago a Prime Minister who was known to be be capable..very capable, and maybe sticky fingers. The view of the electrorate was along the lines .. Yep we know he is a sneaky b********, but he is our sneaky b******** and is on our side ,we will deal with him when we need to.(and we did!)

isn't it pro-brexit?

There's another train,
there always is.
Maybe the next one is yours,
get up and climb aboard,
another train.

And BTW Oyster, historically it can be shown reducing tax can and does increase revenue collected especially so with Corporation tax.
Reductio ad absurdum - keep reducing and reducing the rate and by the time you get to 0.001 % you most certainly won't be taking more revenue.

At the same time, setting taxes significantly lower than, say, the EU generally is hardly a spiffing way to establish a relationship of bon homie.

The problem we have is that Brexit is supposed to mean we become an independent self Governing and self supporting nation.
The reality is that Foreign investment is directly the opposite of any of those things and is the equivalent of having mini foreign colonial enclaves exploiting our infrastructure and resources.
OK, it provides jobs, but the profits go overseas, it is very much the process we used to employ in India and other places now being used against us.

And all we have done is swopped a relatively benign membership of the EU to becoming effectively the property of International Corporates.

the richest 1% Brits are making contingency plan just in case JC becomes PM.

JC:

“The very richest in our society have had tax breaks, giveaways, and tax havens, I tell you what, they're on borrowed time.”

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-09-25/corbyn-is-bogeyman-for-britain-s-super-rich
There is a simple way around this let them go, and divert Tax revenues into reviving the infrastructure and industry so that it out of their hands forever.

The money they have wasn't benefiting the public in any case, and the tax they pay is a small loss against preventing the future financial abuse we would have suffered at their hands.

The irony is this will be seen as welcome news by the punters, after all many of them voted for Brexit to put the screws in this class
This pointless threat will double Corbyn's popularity!

I don't think that the proportion of foreign owned industries is going to change much after brexit. Some will scale down UK production, others will come in.
The main concern is the change of government. As Labour is tipped to win the next GE, the worries about Labour economic strategy relate to many unknown factors at the moment, simply because John McDonnell and JC are reputed to be marxists.

By people who have no idea what a Marxist is.

My Verdict? the man is a Fool
why? his scheme is probably acceptable to the EU.
The customs union in itself does not stop future government diverge from the EU significantly on services and keep the rejoining possibility intact.
