Am surprised that so many Welsh farmers voted Leave....what do they know that we don't?
The prime minister reiterated her government's commitment to maintain EU funding levels of around £300m a year for Welsh agriculture until 2022.

Pressed on funding beyond that, she said: "We'll be making sure that we get a system that is in the interests of farmers across the United Kingdom."....another meaningless soundbite from May,in other words Mr Welsh farmer after 2022 you get nothing!!

Mrs May was speaking to BBC Wales as she visited the Royal Welsh Show.

KudosDave
From what I can see, Wales will lose in most directions.

Probably see ferry traffic reduced.
Agriculture and fishery products, much of which goes to the EU, much reduced.
Goodness knows for industrial production such as what is left of Port Talbot. I suspect Aston Martin didn't actually expect Brexit.
Far less investment from the UK government than from the EU - for example, on roads.
Possibly less influence on our lives through the Welsh assembly.

There is the occasional bit of good news...

Over $118bn wiped off Facebook's market cap after growth shock
Shares crash as platform admits user growth fell after Cambridge Analytica breach

Wow! That would be about enough to pay two brexit bills (direct to EU payments, not the unfathomably immense cost of it in numerous other ways).

Subesequent governments prone to blame their predecessors for the state of things will have instead an alternative - The Public for voting for Brexit.
It is getting to feel as if every future government, to the end of time, will be able to look back and say: "We are far better than the brexit shower."

Zuckerberg should ask Cambridge Analytica to cough up some compensation!

That would be damning themselves with very faint praise indeed!

Cameron's decision to call the Referendum to satisfy the "Swivel eyed loons" in his party must have left him feeling much the same as sentiment expressed in the last words uttered by the Mayor of the Ancient City Gomorrah, as the sky turned Black
"I always knew it was a mistake to be twinned with Sodom"

Fake news of the day award goes to lord Nigel
"
EU wants to FORCE the UK into Brexit CRISIS and 'there is NOTHING we can do' warns Farage
NIGEL Farage blasted the European Union for trying to force the UK into “crisis” during Brexit negotiations, saying “there was nothing we can do” to change their minds."

Translated into truth speak that reads
The EU has restated yet again the sames rules that will apply to our leaving the EU nothing new there.

We continue to refuse to accept their position and have put ourselves in a crisis situation of our own making.

For after all why should the 27 bend to the will of the 1 that is leaving just because it wants them to and we will suffer more than they have accepted to do because of our decision?

Farage is fortunate in the sure and certain knowledge that his utterly stupid take on the situation will resonate with large numbers of the UK population who should be a great deal less gullible than they are.

In the Guardian

"The British negotiators have become increasingly frustrated with the EU’s attitude to the white paper thrashed out at the prime minister’s country retreat. They feel that it will take an intervention by leaders, most likely at a summit in Salzburg in September, to move the dial in favour of a deal. A number of cabinet ministers have been despatched around EU capitals to make their case for greater flexibility.

The Notion of going behind the back of the official negotiators that we have agreed to treat with is hardly going to gain any friends over the channel is it?

Britannia Waives the Rules.....

if you ask Norway or Canada, do they suffer from their trade arrangement with the EU? - I don't think so.
Farage & Co want to retain some membership's privileges, the EU simply say no. Some of the privileges are frictionless trade and soft border in NI. They have to go or be reduced. Customs union or border check.
Canada or Norway, take your pick but you can't ask for cake when you are leaving.

Dominic utter plonker Raab has been attempting to stamp his new-found authority on those wavering factions not 100% committed to his great leader's discredited (now doomed) plan.

This 'tweet', since deleted, demonstrates that he has ample talent to easily fill the boots of his predecessor:

That's certain to ensure the compliance of the Scots and will soon get them in step with no need whatsoever to bribe them.

Hi Tom, to help guest visitors to the thread:

Dominic Raab:

"If we work together the Conservatives will deliver a successful deal for all England's regions, including Scotland."

Was this claim by Rab C Nesbitt a deliberate attempt at fiction, or was he just Trumping?

One thing is for sure, the statements made by government ministers should be like the deserts in McDonalds which carry a made in the morning sell by the afternoon expiry date.

From the Telegraph

Teenagers should take more summer jobs to prepare them for the workplace, says minister

Translated that means use them to replace EU fruit pickers.
Can't see them being up to the job, frankly. hard to do one handed while on Snapchat.
I read yesterday about the dramatic increase in the number of unconditional university place offers. That’s right, they will take you on a degree course regardless of the grades you achieve.

I think university education, or rather what it has become, is one of the biggest scandals of recent times. These places, which masquerade as education establishments, are rinsing young people for £27K a time whilst shovelling “pop star” quantities of cash into the pockets of senior university staff. Is there any wonder they have now extended their offer to take £27K off people regardless of ability? It’s perverse.

Teenagers may as well get in the fields and start picking fruit because after graduation day and that proud, tearful photo with Mum & Dad, many are going to be left holding a degree certificate which is worth less than lavatory paper, and a huge debt for the privilege. Many are being well and truly ripped off and they should never have been allowed to go anywhere near a university except to clean or maintain it.
