I totally agree flecc the situation is and has been for quite a while totally untenable but seems to me it very much depends who makes such comments as to whether they are acceptable.
We have reached situation where we judge an opinion not on its merit but on person expressing it.

I don’t understand. Why is Merkel now proposing to restrict the number of Migrants entering Germany? She is a very outspoken champion of the idea of migrants entering Germany. The German population might oppose the idea, but what does that matter, Merkel likes it.

Something seems to have persuaded Mrs Merkel change her stance on migration, and I suspect that it might have something to do with having her fat-ass kicked out of office if she doesn’t. A very solid reason to shape-shift into a person who now isn’t so keen on migrants and wants to send them all to Italy. Of course the Italians are going to be overjoyed to hear this news.

All of this is a bit more petrol on the as yet unlit EU bonfire. Very soon, someone is going to strike a match and the vapour will ignite. The sad thing is, all of this has been totally avoidable & foreseeable and the EU could have worked. Instead, people with unpopular ideals have gagged and tirelessly worked against the interests of majority populations for a long time. Reckoning day approaching.
Yes indeed all of this could have been avoided it just needed two things
  1. We shouldn't have joined in wars in the middle East as lapdog of the USA
  2. We (this country) shouldn't have voted for Brexit
The day of reckoning is indeed coming but it won't be for the EU
it will be for the UK

This isn't quite correct

A confession no less, after all you do it all the time with me!
Does that mean you are going to stop hitting the disagree button on all of my posts?

I’m unavailable for comment for the next 90 minutes because I’m watching a country riddled with gun crime, murder and drug gangs take on Columbia at football.

It's justified in your case.

It's justified in your case.
Only in your rather weird view of reality, which seems highly erratic and variable.

It would help if you stopped emulating the maybot and instead of seeking simply to be argumentative actually decided what you really want and stand for.

But then you voted for Brexit without having a clue as to what it would mean didn't you?
Simply because you "Disliked" some of the Politicians in the EU

From the Independent
"
Brexit: UK businesses reject government's 'max-fac' customs plan
Firms of all sizes back model that rules out border checks, survey finds

Don't they realise this sort of thing could jeapordize us getting Blue passports?

Oh, hang on minute the EU has agreed we can have them even if we stay.

So why are we going ahead with Brexit then?

From the Express
"
Jacob Rees-Mogg explains BRILLIANT reasoning behind support for FULL BREAK from Brussels
JACOB Rees-Mogg has explained why he backs calls for a complete break from European Union institutions to ensure Britons are delivered the Brexit they voted for as he warned it would be a "cheat" to remain in the single market..

And what was the brilliant reasoning?
"Because we said we were going to in the manifesto
it's a matter of honesty with the voters"

Has he forgotten how they didn't exactly get a mandate worthy of the name and have had to buy the seats of a dogs body called the DUP to stay in power?

Brilliant reasoning only if you want Foxhunting and offshore bank accounts protected.

And of course it didn't happen here
"The Westminster expenses scandal in the UK back in 2009 made headlines with journalists uncovering parliamentarians using their expenses to redecorate their home homes, evade taxes and one MP even used expenses to build a duck house. This led to a massive overhaul of how the whole expenses system was run and increased transparency around what MPs were spending tax payers’ money on."

And no doubt they are all now as pure as driven slush...
Note UKIP have a starring role.....

Outrageous indeed!

However bear in mind

"Conservative MEP David Campbell Bannerman said: 'The perfect answer is to leave the EU, which we're doing. The whole system is outrageous. It's a very patchy system and the bureau doesn't want to do anything about it. Sometimes no one knows quite where the money goes.'"

No doubt into the offshore bank accounts we are leaving the EU to protect.

We won't be leaving corruption behind, rather it's about the only growth area of the UK economy we can confidently look forward to!

So his remedy isn't one, is it?
What we should have done is stayed in and demanded change.

The European Union
Why do you keep going on about corruption in the EU Z? Isn't getting ahead in life because you were born into money, went to the right school and were hired via the "old boy/girl" network not a form of corruption? The UK is all squeaky clean and no wrong is ever done for money?

Yeah sure, there are people from the slums who make a go of it and become star speculators traders in the city but aren't they the exception?

The EU has a massive corruption problem. Its endemic and not getting better.
Accepted this link is not EU directly but involves most countries within EU and others outside. From MEPs claiming on average 48000 euro per annum (for expenses, without any requirement for receipts etc etc), (Transparency International are saying this is not acceptable) to mayors working in unison with immobilisers buying /selling land and generally the whole ethos within EU revolving around "favours" its corrupt to the core.

Zathlan, .. what kind of nonsense is this. .. one name in 49 is mentioned, reference to suspicion is indicated and then by a leap of faith all 49 are implicated...
Then expenses of 48k per MEP , so what !!! . It is exciting to go on a plane but after taking flights on average every 2 days for years on end it gets a little tedious and expensive. Hotels or rented apartments don't come cheap.
Best practice is to have vouchered reciepts, for all transactions , which is what your Transparency International pressure group are suggesting , .. do you know how time consuming? , soul destroying this actually is?. How expensive it is to actually audit each and very transaction ? Have you worked in public service were they are required?. Common sense is to use an ad Diem rate.
