They're holding a seance in the House of commons tonight
Tying to reach "Hard Brexit" on The other side"
Apparently TM has made concessions to the "Rebels" to ensure they vote with the Government.
Only problem being that no one seems to know what kind of beast a rebel is to differentiate them from a Government supporter.

And with the likes of Boris and Gove allegedly Government supporters (I could be totally wrong there) it comes as no surprise, and whatever is decided it will be too late and irrelevant anyway.

When the exit deal finally emerges, no one will really understand what the consequences are, and what we have to do, after all collectively no one has made a plan , but inevitably will conclude it stinks, we will simply have to hold our noses and accept it.

I have what must surely be the best plan of all
We send a deputation to Brussels with a White Flag and Give ourselves up, throwing ourselves on their mercy and begging generous terms.

We may as well get it over with sooner than later and they are even more brassed off with our antics.

TBH, it does not matter much if the government wins all the votes today and tomorrow. TM will kick the can down the road regardless.
All she wants and needs is the transition.
Demography and time will swing public opinion. If a referendum is held today, remain would win. If a referendum is held in 3 years, remain will win.

Your throwing capital letters around again. I, m fairly sure white flag is not a proper noun and give certainly isn't. Come on OG, stop making poor posts even worse.

Even when we do, will they have us back?
I still think the white flag (note careful avoidance of CAPItal LeTTErs) will come in handy

I, d guess it would be "White flag" if used to start a sentence or in isolation, since you did neither it should be "white flag". Unless of course white has become a proper noun which it hasn't. (But when used to describe a race, ie he is White, it is, but not for flags)
And 50% is 100% better than you, ve achieved.

You should have taken trouble to read your link. As you can see Wikipedia when using white flag mid sentence do not use capitals. You are wrong. As normal, even after checking on wiki. Now that is good.

Said the man who confuses a comma for an apostrophe!
Oh do give over, I'm clearly quite mad, but you have no excuse, and by the way my M key sticks on the blessed keyboard so if it is missing I did my best

By the way you let the side down and didn't mark "disagree" with my post.
Are you trying to make me feel unwanted?

Actually I was referring to the process (assuming anyone is trying) to get a deal with the EU
Is it happening?
Or is the whle effort now just to play for time in the hope brexit goes away?

MPs vote by 324 to 298 against a bid to give Parliament the decisive say on the UK Brexit deal

Which marks the end of Parliamentary Sovereignty and the start of rule by dictat.

I confess to being baffled why politicians have decided they have the right not to represent the voters who put them in power by not taking responsibility for the most important event in modern times.

Where on the Referendum form or indeed the Manifesto of the Tory party was this put to the voters, that they would now have a major decision made by anything less that the entire House of Commons?

What other changes will be made under this new regime? clearly it is a coup, nothing more or less.
When did we vote to introduce a dictatorial regime Empowered by a tiny majority in an advisory referendum?

Whatever parliament votes for is the will of parliament, that’s simply what a representative democracy is, whether you like the result of that or not,

I think it was a big mistake, but it’s still the will of parliament, you can’t have it both ways.

You forget the simple fact that the Mp's have a responsibility to represent all of their constituents and are not free to discard that responsibility, it cannot be voted away to suit a particular individual action that at least half the country don't support.
How can the will of Parliament be to discard of it's job and responsibilities? and hand over responsibility to a small unelected group?
They are no longer "Representative" are they?

And worse how can the party in power emasculate the opposition in this fashion?
This is what will happen .Sorry old chap, even if we all know the policy will proves itself disastrous, you can't even vote on it.

It's not a case of making a "cute" comment "whether you like it or not"

This is simply a naked power grab, undemocratic and wrong to let a small group force through damaging legislation without the full HOC voting on something so vital.
Dangerous and stupid.
And imagine the trouble that will ensue if things go wrong.... better still try not to!

How does an MP manage to represent 100% of its constituents, they only have 1 vote, Some one has to be dissapointed.

That's true, but if they give away the right to that single vote, no one is being represented are they? And functionally as a public representative they no longer exist, nor in fact does parliamentary sovereignty.
