I don't believe the USA is a democracy.

I don't believe the USA is a free country. Especially if you are black or any other colour than white (pink with orange makeup counts as white...).
That's pretty much spot-on and you are certainly not alone with those beliefs; indeed, one of the USA's closest neighbour's isn't very impressed with the Americans as seen here:29178986_1808412732554555_1647324153646153728_n.jpg

I was commenting on him being "democratically" elected, nothing to do with you. You can't be democratically elected by a minority of votes in any other country in the world.

I don't believe the USA is a democracy.

None of these comments have anything to do with you. The thread isn't a waste of time, it gives insight into how many people view the world.
Thanks. So why reference my quote.
And I said how people chose to reply is a waste of time.

So USA isn't the only one. Could easily be argued nobody has a democracy. You think UK has??

Or give young people real jobs with decent wages? I know it is a bit "way out there" as a thought but it might work?
I don’t think just “giving” them jobs would work. If they studied for something useful in the fields of science, engineering, languages, vocational skills etc, it would be appropriate to reward them with a decent wage and career prospects.

Degrees in pop music, film, playing games and other such rubbish should never be rewarded. The Universitys carry a lot of blame for the rise in this sort of garbage. They offer these course to hook in the non-academics and fleece them for £27K.

Whereas ours are told what to do by Rupert Murdoch,Russian and israeli Bulk dodgy cash contributors.
Allegedly.
At side of some past US presidents Trump is a saint and genius. LBJ and Vietnam. JFK and mafia. Bush snr.. Iran.. Clinton.. Lewinsky. Nixon.. Water gate. Bush Jnr.. well what can you say. Reagan....Thatcher(and billions on star wars technology)
Trump IMHO is trying to forge links with North Korea. He, s also trying to establish a fairer tariff system. Both positive steps IMHO. I also thought he was well informed in his last conference. He is also trying so reestablish lost industry in US.

I was impressed he managed to read all that from an autocue and only rambled when responding to the pre rehearsed questions when he looked up from it...
Reading lines is after all de rigeur for TV phony personalities like him
Trump isn't trying to forge links with North Korea he has several objectives
  1. Make himself appear the Hero and swell his Vanity
  2. Act as a useful fool to his handlers who want to split North Korea from China
  3. Cosy up to Putin to cover up misdeeds over Russian influence and use them against China and or the EU in some way
  4. Do the same economic damage to American Voters as our shower will after Brexit using the same excuses of "Will of the People" and promising "Jobs for the Worker"
If he imagines he can do that then he is a dumb as Cummings was for thinking you can "Make a silk Purse out of a Sow's Ear", which is not a criticism of the American Workers, but of the Investors and Managerial Classes that are as backward looking and short termist as our own home grown versions.

Oh he can quite easily create jobs, but not ones that offer the holder any future, financial security or good conditions.

Right wing regimes never do, they don't want to eliminate Poverty, but to exploit and use it to control their victims.

Surely that is democracy, the majority of voters represented with all those parties taking part in governance?

Better than the USA with two parties both buying their way into power.
.
I haven't passed judgement flecc. Not my place. I live in UK. US citizens see it as their model of democracy. My point is all models of democracy are just that. A model. None perfect, as to which is best, who knows. We, ve moaned about ours enough which is fine. Moaning about somebody elses' is like commenting on neighbours wife. Not good form.

The words were clear enough, but as the saying goes
"You used expensive labels on Empty Baggage"
Is Empty Baggage a town near you OG? Or a person perhaps? If not it doesn't need capitals.
Might be your name. Mr Empty Baggage.
Come on OG, thought you, d had an education.
