Brexit, for once some facts.

There is a compilation produced by the evil, tory propaganda sheet, 'The Rothermere Rag', back in 2014. Thatcher doesn't appear in it although Pinochet does. If revised today, the list would almost certainly need to include Cameron, May and their murderous regime, headed up by their minister for selective euthanasia and Scotland's shame, Iain Duncan Smith. Of course, the Daily Mail would never produce something critically damning about the tory leadership or royalty so it's never going to happen and instead, a revival of old hat stories about Jeremy Corbyn, the IRA and Princess Diana are more likely to fill column inches.

Evidently, the Daily Mail knows to the nearest thousand exactly how many each of these mass-murderers actually killed just as the newspapers in the countries whose leaders are listed did and I'd guess they didn't publish anything damning about their governments either!

New anti-brexit party has been launched today.

https://renewbritain.org/
They at least had me interested enough to read on till I came to this.
"to promote a new centrist movement."

Oh Dear me no! not again!

We know what happens to people who stay in the middle of the road. They get run down. Aneurin Bevan

A thinly disguised re run of New Labour AKA the Tory "B" team methinks.
And the same methodology, hijack the Labour voters, then Conservative Policies dished up with a liberal Garnish of lies and Platitudes, including a sort of "Northern Powerhouse"

As they used to say round here "Bent as a Nine Bob Note"

We could all do with a bit more centre left policies, however, success of any new party depends on its ability to raise cash.
let's see how may candidates they'll put up at the next Council elections in May.

No, you're wrong. We need a complete change from centre-right and that requires good left-wing socialist policies. The centrist movement has consistently failed or have you forgotten the recent history of British politics?

Tom
both the left and right sides of British politics nurture extreme views and extremists.
That's enough for me to lose faith in politicians a long time ago.

It appears that the U.K. governments new free trade deal will require the EU to trust the U.K. to collect import tariffs....as the EU is currently sueing the U.K. ‘s HMRC 2.1 bn euros because of its negligence in collecting duty on clothing imported from China, can you imagine the EU will trust us to collect tariffs.???

good read this morning:

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/feb/20/brexit-52-ukip-leavers

Brexit isn’t a viable mass movement. It has plenty of voters and they want the referendum result honoured, as is appropriate for a democracy. Once that condition is met, the technicalities stoke few great passions. The problem for Ukip and the Tory right is an absence of actual oppressions to match the rhetoric of a liberation struggle.
viable or not remains to be seen. Not long to go now,.

From the Guardian this morning
"
David Davis: Brexit will not plunge Britain into 'Mad Max dystopia'
Secretary for exiting EU to say in speech that fears of a race to the bottom are unfounded
he Brexit secretary will claim that Theresa May’s government wants to oversee a race to the top in global standards, listing workers’ rights, City regulation, animal welfare and the environment as areas for potential improvement.

In the latest speech in the government’s “road to Brexit” series, Davis will say: “We will continue our track record of meeting high standards after we leave the European Union. Now, I know that for one reason or another there are some people who have sought to question that these really are our intentions … these fears about a race to the bottom are based on nothing – not history, not intention nor interest.”
Oh Dear, another day, another Denial of what has been going on for years.
Surely no one is stupid enough not to expect the Tory's to lower standards?
How often have they stated they wanted to be rid of "Stifling" EU rules and regulations?
Come off it Davis, no one is going to believe you.

it won't be Mad Max but as far as I've known about tories policies, they will keep lowering the bar to 'let market forces increase efficiency'.
It is still encouraging that DD comes to the side of cooperation.

If I were a 'Brexidiot', I would be earnestly seeking to have DD sacked from his role as a negotiator. For some time, he has simply been going through the motions, so much so that I'm sure he realises what a disaster it's all going to be and is now rather squirming towards sitting on the fence, repeating the same old rhetoric.

This is the man:

My name is Davis. Once, I was a Minister; a road warrior searching for a righteous cause. Now I exist in this Brexit Wasteland. A man reduced to a single instinct: survive.

Mind you if there is a Master Plan to baffle the EU, he is putting in a Bravura Performance, expecting the EU to trust anything he says, as over time anything said tends to mean the opposite of the words used.

As an example

A year ago he alleged that the UK was suffering under the Stifling effect of the dead hand of EU over regulation.

Today he asserts we are not going to rush in a race to the bottom and dump them, rather not simply keep them as they are now, but update them in sync with our EU partners.

Does he really think anyone in the EU will ever trust his, or indeed the words of any other member of the Tory Government again?

he's a politician, he does not expect to be trusted and believed.
