Yes - this is why I tend to take it out once a month or so (I normally ride my non-folding bigger bike with a Bosch system) Then charge it again once I have ridden it down to only 1 or 2 LEDs left on but this time it doesn't seem to have worked

Remember that the pre-2016 ebikes that can have a throttle also have to comply with ALL the pre-2016 regs which mainly means that the motor is limited to 200W rather than the current 250W When I traded my pre-2016 bike in for a modern one the difference was very noticeable - especially on hills!
