Add power selector to old Powacycle

Thanks - I d have a throttle so I could do something like that. However I would really like to do it by pedalling, which would also give me a possibility of setting a lower power level to get more exercise - so I will look at the motor controller idea Has anyone ever done this - does anyone know...

Add power selector to old Powacycle

Hi all, I have an old Powacycle Salisbury which has been great - however, now that I have bought my wife a modern carrera I can compare the old and new feature. The only thing that I miss on my old bike is the power selector. I go along canal paths and footpaths a lot and sometimes the power...

    Wisper 806SE Replacement Tyre Advice

I have schwalbe marathons on my bike and they haven't had a puncture since - not cheap but seem to be worth it. There - look what you've done now - made me tempt fate - I'll be walking back with a double puncture this afternoon!:)

bought an electric bike without battery, appreciate some battery buying advice .

I have the Salisbury model - but they seem to be similar. I have had it since 2011 but it was second hand then - apparently it was originally bought in 2010 if the seller can be believed. In that time I have lived in hilly and flat areas - it has worked wonderfully in all of them. The power in...

bought an electric bike without battery, appreciate some battery buying advice .

I have a powacycle - they are very helpful if you contact them - they may be the best place to go to for replacement parts. As for the battery - I suggest that you try to get an old worn out one from ebay and then get this lot to recell it. They have just upped mine from 12Ah to 17 Ah and it was...

how much would petrol need to increase to change driving habits

Out of interest - I am doubting anyone - but has anyone a good site for official stats for the increase in bus/train usage due to the congestion charge?

    New to ebike

If you are going to use it for commuting I would suggest a rear carrier and some kind of bag/pannier set to go on it. it is much better to have weight on the bike rather than on your back - especially if you are commuting as the backpack will make your back sweaty

    Security

I have left my ebike tied up in town lots of times - I tend to use several locks to make it as fiddly as possible - no thief wants to be fiddling around for any longer than necessary. Also I agree with leaving it in the most public place possible. If I go shopping there is a bike rack outside...

    Recommend me an e-bike

My local bike shop is getting more and more ebikes - but the ones I can see are all expensive mountain bike types. Not really surprising as it is a very small shop with little display area! If I was looking for a new one I would just go in and ask them what they can get for a lower price - I'm...

    Recell Battery

Just yet another post saying that eBikebatteries.co.uk are great - just had my Powacycle Salisbury battery recelled - great service and they are very helpful if you need to go through the options. Also much cheaper than getting a new battery - which in this case I couldn't do anyway as they...

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

Personally I have no desire to increase the cutoff speed of my ebike - even when I used it for commuting 15 m.p.h. was fast enough and now that I'm retired I ride on canal paths and such like a lot so it would be inappropriate on those paths anyway. I suppose there has to be a limit otherwise it...

Carrera Crosscity Electric Bike Vs B'TWIN Tilt 500 Folding Electric Bike

OK - but when I got a new battery and rode the Powacycle on the same route then it would be down to 1 light after about 20-25 miles - the carrera seemed to stand up much better. Anyway - the main point is that the Carrera's range seems to be good.

Carrera Crosscity Electric Bike Vs B'TWIN Tilt 500 Folding Electric Bike

I bought my wife the carrera a few months ago - so I clearly have had to test it out to check it myself a few times ;) In my opinion it is a wonderful bike. The 'console' on the handlebars is very easy to use and the motor works well. As far as range is concerned - I tried to discharge it a...

    Transporting E-bikes are a nightmare!

When I moved house I just put my ebike on the normal rear door cycle carrier without its battery - the weight limit is far higher than my bike - after all it is designed to take 4 bikes and my ebike only weighs a few pounds more than a normal bike. I can't use it anymore as my current car has a...

In search of a cyclescheme-friendly commuter bike

My wife is under 5 foot and we had a lot of trouble getting her an ebike. We ended up with a carrera crosscity-e - the seta goes really low and there is a handy carrier on the back. I have an old PowaCycle Salisbury and I find the Carrera great as I can change the 'help level' easily - which is...

Carrera Crossfire Stops Pedal Assist At 16mph

Legally it should cut out at 15.5 m.p.h. so if it previously at 18 then it was, theoretically, illegal. I suspect that either you have mis-remembered - or your previous speed measurements were inaccurate for some reason
