    Bafang + Brose + Hi-Tech Energy = Energy Tubes?

Read an article earlier about an interesting cooperation between Bafang and Brose and Hi-Tech Energy. It can be found at BIKE EUROPE <CLICK HERE>. Standardisation could help to bring battery prices down, but is this the way?

1-1-2016 Today's Change in the Law.

Beautifully succinct. It's becoming clear this question is asked a lot and is explained in many different ways, but this summaries the best.

1-1-2016 Today's Change in the Law.

A guy over the road from me imported an electric scooter from the states. He had to take it to our neatest centre on the south coast of England in Southampton, he was back and forth a number of times for really silly little things, having to hire a van each time. He said it wasn't an easy...

    Accelerator and new law question

Beautifully put, and quite agree. In off road situations i find it allows for a different style of technical riding where a short burst of throttle on a narrow or the summit of a very steep section achieves a fluidity of riding I wouldn't otherwise be able to achieve. Down hill rooty sections...

    Accelerator and new law question

It seems many, me included, have at times struggled to interpret the regs correctly, where and when they apply, how they apply, when it changes/changed and so on. The throttle is not a deal breaker, it just seems to have it place in certain applications. Working with a multi-assist level...

    Accelerator and new law question

Thank you flecc, really appreciate your explanation. Had to read it a few times.... ;P I'm as much for safety as I am against discrimination; allowing loads of loons on 3kw rat bikes would not be clever. Sensible people can be responsible for themselves and each other and are the majority...

    Accelerator and new law question

The current reason for GB retaining throttle use option up to 25kph strikes me as odd.... Why would "disabled and elderly people" be considered for only a two year period, then left to try and tackle longer distances and steep hills solely with pedal assist thereafter? Is it anticipated that...

About £40. Should be good strong ring but proofs in the pudding. Well worth seeing what they're like anyway. Cheers Darren

Bafang BBS01/02 compatible 36 tooth chainrings?

Hi, I have recently been offered some nice looking 7075 T6 aluminium chainrings specific to the BBS01/02 from a new supplier. They are 36 tooth direct mount on to the bafang motor (like a smaller less dished Lekkie) and have a narrow wide tooth formation. Whilst I am more than happy with the 42...

do members use there ebikes much at this time of year not work related

Whereas previously I would shy away from the bike during periods of awful weather, the pedal assist nullifies most and waterproofs and warm gloves does the rest. As others have said, catch a good tailwind and there's a lot of fun to be had, especially along the seafront. I don't turn Strava on...

Lith/Moly grease in BBS01/02 secondary drive?

Some of the recommended greases are rather difficult to procure in small quantities as discovered above. Reasonably easy to acquire, thus the substitute for secondary gear top up, the Mobilgrease 28 is available here for £16.06 for 390 gram tube. :)
