    Riese+Muller Delite 2018 Nuvinci Review

So you've trawled the internet to find a negative review of a Riese and Muller bike. I'm assuming it's negative, since I can't be bothered to watch 25 minutes of video. This thread is for a review of the OP's bike. That's what people are interested in, we've heard the 'overpriced' and...

    Riese+Muller Delite 2018 Nuvinci Review

There's a certain industrial beauty in the bird poo welds on R&M frames. A passer-by approached me to admire mine, not the bike, the welds, the guy said he was a welder and liked to see the job done well. The overall finish on R&M bikes is pretty good, and the build quality of mine was...

    Taking bike on a train

One problem is different rules and regulations for different operators. As mentioned, you are all but guaranteed to get on with a folder but there's often uncertainty with a rigid bike. The hooks on some services are not really suitable for ebikes which are too heavy and unwieldy to be hung...

I wouldn't be too harsh on yourself. Latterly, trex declared himself several times as involved with woosh, so anyone doing some reading around the forum would not have been misled.

Wisper 705 Torque or Raleigh Motus step thru with hub gears.

Rigid forks on a bike at this price point are a benefit. The cheap and nasty sus fork you would get adds weight but nothing else. Having said that, I like Bosch bikes so would be tempted by the Motus. On t'other hand, a Wisper with the bigger battery should offer you more range.

Mmm, it's not so long ago that woosh was prevailed upon to stop using the Trex account, which was woosh masquerading as a private individual. D8veh is pally with both the founder and the current owner of Oxygen, so some care should be taken to interpret his recommendations. There may be other...

Wider tyres for grip and comfort

The OP won't go wrong with a Big Apple or Ben, but just as much comfort would be achieved by lowering the pressures on his existing tyres. An Apple or Ben, being a balloon tyre, could safely run at an even lower pressure than a City Jet, which may be a benefit.

That was November, 2011, and Eddieo was reinstated. He was later banned permanently (again) but that ban was genuinely permanent. Not sure when, but it must have been after September, 2012, when I joined. As flecc says, Eddieo has since died. In what I thought was a nice touch, his son...

I forget the username of one of the banned members, but his real name was, if I recall, Eddie. I couldn't see what he had done wrong at the time, although one never knows what goes on behind the scenes. He was witheringly critical of Chinese ebikes, then more than now there was a lot of...

Beat Bike Toba Crossbar (Bike Log)

All roadsters in Germany - push bike or ebike - must have lights, so that's why you see lots of ebikes with them. I believe the regulation is based on bicycle weight, so a lightweight road bike doesn't have to have lights. If it's a Shimano dynohub, it is possible to remake the plug...

Wider tyres for grip and comfort

You may not believe it, but the best grip in wet conditions is from a slick tyre. A bicycle cannot aquaplane, and a slick gives you more tread on the road than a treaded tyre. Realistically, there won't be a lot in it between a treaded and slick tyre of the same compound.

What Is The Main Purpose Of Pedelecs ?

Your contributions are reasonable enough, but I think you need to take a look at the more recent efforts of the two main posters. They are sour, nasty, often off-topic, entirely negative, and oh so predictable. It may not always have been so, if I recall the thread began life as a genuine...

What Is The Main Purpose Of Pedelecs ?

Prompted by this thread, I've just taken a rare look at the Brexit thread. At best, it's mis-titled - there's no facts I can see. All it amounts to is an avalanche of sour, political invective by two members who appear to have little else to do in their lives. Few people will be fooled and...

    26" wheel in a 27.5" frame

Some Schwalbe tubes are marked for a wide range of wheel diameters and tyre widths. The OP is using 26" and 27.5", one tube would fit both.

    Cageless water bottle...

Isn't the idea the bottle hangs off two bolts partially screwed into existing bottle cage mounts? If so, it's not suitable for handlebar mounting. Hard to see much of an advantage in most situations, although you could remove the bottle in any direction and without having to lift it clear of a...

E-bikes declared illegal to use on European roads without insurance

If the nanny Euro state wants ebikes to be insured, then it must follow all bikes should be insured - the road risks posed being identical. While I agree this proposal is a non-starter, the interfering busybodies do need to be reminded at every opportunity what sensible folk think of them.

    Switched to Haibike SduroTrekking

My AVE MH7 is a 20" wheel compact framed Bosch ebike - very similar to the Tinker. I rate it highly, the smaller frame and wheels do make for a much handier package. Comfort might not be quite as good as a big wheel bike, but I've still done - and enjoyed - many 50+mile rides on the AVE, my...

20 mile commute on an Electric Mountain Bike...

Allowing a bit more time will have two benefits - more comfort and lower battery consumption. Taking it a bit steadier also means less chance of a tumble and more chance of getting away with shallow tread tyres for a longer part of the year, if not year round. Some of those tracks will be a...

If you have the large, Intuvia display it's always worth cleaning the contacts. You can get electrical contact cleaner, but a firm wipe with a dry cloth or paper towel would do it.
