    Brexit, for once some facts.

You will have a long wait if you think I am prepared to rehash the same, tired, arguments for your benefit. Read the preceding 3,459 pages if you are that interested. Nor am I remotely interested in your snotty insults.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Perhaps we will get an improved education system which teaches its students to spell.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Matters not. What does matter is more than three years of pointless parliamentary 'scrutiny' is over. We have started the endgame, which is all Tory voting public expect. That it may take a year or two to leave the hideously overblown organisation is another good reason for doing so.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Blimey, I see the 'facts' are still coming thick and fast. Only one matters now. We're leaving.

Washing ebike? - Without outside tap?

Yes. The only thing you will want to lube with any regularity is the chain. Even then, that will not need doing after every ride. What I do is wipe the chain with dry rag a few times, then drop a bit of lube on every fifth or sixth time. Soundwave's link to the little WD40 dropper bottle is...

Washing ebike? - Without outside tap?

Why would you want to degrease it only to put lube back on again? A degreaser would be used if a bike had been left filthy for many years and ordinary soap and water would not shift the dried on muck. Maintenance sprays are another topic, and one which has caused many online arguments among...

If I gave these tyres do o need slime?

Schwalbe offer the tyre in 700c at five widths. https://www.schwalbe.com/en/tour-reader/energizer-plus The ever reliable BikeDiscount in the Fatherland has very similar Greenguard Marathons for similar money, including a couple of twin tyre and inner tube packages...

If I gave these tyres do o need slime?

Agreed. Something like those would be my choice if buying that type of tyre again. At only £16 a pop, you could afford to replace them before the tread got too worn, which is another way to avoid punctures.

Washing ebike? - Without outside tap?

Car wash/wax detergent and a wipe over with microfibre cloth is as good as any. The stuff leaves a light shine on the bike which means dirt doesn't stick to it so much the next time. But you would need to lug a bucket or two of water from wherever your nearest tap is. A dry alternative is...

    First ebike belt not chain?

Averaging 15mph is pushing it a bit, particularly if you comply with traffic signals. Hub gears and a belt both add a little drag, so pedalling an ebike with those above the cut off will not be easy. Sounds like you are an experienced cyclist, so a test ride on a couple of ebikes will quickly...

If I gave these tyres do o need slime?

Same here. The Charger has wide Alex rims which really need a two inch plus balloon tyre, if you want the tyre to sit well on the rim which I do.

If I gave these tyres do o need slime?

I agree about the riding characteristics of Marathon Pluses, there are better. Didn't bother me for my steady use on roads and well-made paths. The toughness also equates to long life. The guy who bought my bike with them on couldn't believe they'd done 5,000 miles.

Looking to buy, at Ezebike £1.3k and Argos Chinese £550 any suggestions

Oh dear, I thought the likes of that Eze bike had been evicted from the market. A cheap and nasty Chinese direct drive kit clagged on to a cheap and nasty mountain bike. Wholesale buying price for the whole lot about £300. Wouldn't be so bad if they were charging £499 for it.

    First ebike belt not chain?

Other than the G-Tech, I can't immediately think of a belt drive alternative, although there must be one or two. Nothing wrong with a hub gear and a chain. The higher chain line keeps the chain out of the dirt, and the fact that it always runs in perfect alignment and is not scraped across a...

If I gave these tyres do o need slime?

Kenda original equipment tyres are not the best. Probably worth doing a few journeys to see if you are getting punctures before seeking solutions to a problem that may not exist. A tougher tyre might be a better option. Schwalbe Marathon Plus is the usual recommendation. I did 5,000 miles on...

My Gazelle Ultimate 10 -- poor Walk assist

What year is the bike? The walk assist on earlier Bosch bikes was a bit weedy. More grunt is available by putting it in bottom gear. I'm assuming you've tried that.

First e-bike, largely commuting but want reasonable all rounder

Good job. I can't see the point of buying a thousand pound Chinese cheapie, when a proper, quality branded bicycle is available for £1,600. Unless, of course, you really cannot afford the extra.

    HELP!! I'm new here

If you want a Dutch-style bike - and you want something with a bit of quality about it - why not buy a genuine Dutch bike? Gazelles are nicely made and finished, and are available in lots of styles and specs. https://www.gazellebikes.com/en-gb/electric-bikes

    First ebike belt not chain?

I have the Riese and Muller Charger in my avatar. It has a Rohloff hub with a traditional chain, albeit one with the Chainglider lightweight enclosed guide. R&M bikes are a bit dearer than some, but they often have spec which others do not. In my case, a twin battery and a Rohloff. When you...

Best e-bike for smallish woman exploring hilly countryside? Leaning towards Boardman HYB 8.9E

I agree about your weight, if I weighed so little I would err towards the Boardman. Any bike can be retrofitted with mudguards, although it is a fiddly job to do well. Some riders only fit them in the poorer weather, typically when the clocks go back, then take them off when the clocks go...
