My Gazelle Ultimate 10 -- poor Walk assist

Sporting the Bosch Performance line motor, it is not too bad.

But in walk assist mode it won't climb the donkey steps on the bridge over the A406. The torque offered is so slight that it frequently baulks and drops out of assist mode. If my four Ortliebs were full, it would not have a chance. My hands and fingers are ageing and that adds to the problems.

Has any one devised a contraption to hold down the + key , so hands can be used to control the laden bike?
Is their a hack to add more oomph to the walk mode/ I feel it should be possible to walk assist more enthusiasticly!

What year is the bike?

The walk assist on earlier Bosch bikes was a bit weedy.

More grunt is available by putting it in bottom gear.

I'm assuming you've tried that.
