Wood is natures carbon fibre... A good few years back top end windsurf manufacturers started using wood laminate in place ( and along with) carbon? Kevlar/ dyneema weaves. Wood gives better feel/ flex and tough into bargain. A pain to repair tho... There,s still nothing to compare with carbon...
