I treated myself to a Suntour NCX seatpost. With the assist as well, it comes in and drops away smoothly so as you say going on past the assist speed is easy and smooth.

    Ebike vs Road bike

Yeh I think if I had a go on one I'd buy it so staying well away for the time being!.

    Ebike vs Road bike

I'm not a roadie but would love a go on a Giant e road plus, just looks the business!. I would say I'd be faster on my geared mountain bike in comparison to my single speed ebike, but the difference would be negligible and the former I'd be a sweaty mess which is no good when turning up for...

    Riding in the Rain

I've been through torrential rain on the Gtech and it hasn't missed a beat, to be honest I never gave it a second thought!. Wouldn't put a pressure washer anywhere near it though, seen too many motorcycles damaged by misuse of pressure washers (mainy bearing related..).

It definitely will, I get 30 + miles put of mine in similar use. No chain to clean + lube, near silent, 3hr charge from flat. I don't like running my battery on the last bar (25% per bar) but have in the past and got 40 over miles out of it. If you take the bike as it was designed, simple/...

How do you ride your Ebike for Max distance

I ride above the assistance speed on the flat (no battery usage) but like the assist on the hills and when setting off from a stop. Chose my bike for a few different reasons, maintenance free carbon belt and simple single speed being two, the motor fills in where the single gear ratio is a...

    Hydrogen Powered bikes

They supply a refilling tank, you refill at home. It's a heavy beast though, 23 1/2 kg!.

    Carrera Crossfire-E Cutouts?

At least one person on here has had to strap his battery down to prevent the bike cutting out, and plenty more have reported the problem.. You could use some electrical insulation tape to temporarily strap it to the frame and see if that improves matters.

    Guy Martins new TV programme

With the elevation changes his 150 miles a day on the last venture was equivalent to 250 miles on the flat (and on a single speeder..). The man is very fit (ooer!), and has tons of willpower.

    Full Suspension or Not?

ACF50 is a good thing to apply if using the bike and then not cleaning it straigh away. It prevents salt corrosion (just in case they've gritted)..

    lots of hate out there

I'm a member of another cycling forum and have not had one bad comment about riding an ebike, to the contrary some have asks questions about buying one!.

It probably goes through a calibration of the torque sensor on startup.

    The Grand Tour

I really enjoyed it, it's got all the makings to mature into a great show!. The chemistry is still there between the three which makes it so much more watchable. I honestly don't think the BBC will have a rival for it any time soon..

I'm over the moon with my Gtech, 400 miles of commuting under it's belt now, looking forward to a trouble and near maintenance free winter hopefully!.

Someone commented today about the weight as well after picking it up, it's very nimble at 16kg ;).

Old chap looking for e-bike that looks nice and handles like a proper bike

Nothing wrong with the Gtech, try one and send it back if you don't like it ;). Search for my review, it doesn't ride itself but you can lean on it when you hit wind or hills and it does the job. It doesn't ride itself though, it's not a moped but an electric "assist". I've had man-flu all...

Amazon fined £65000 for shipping lithium batteries

Yes but if you read the second part of the post I quoted then if they did ask what was in the It would be the second part of my quote I was referring too. "If you're a person who doesn't post stuff regularly, then you wouldn't have a clue that shipping restrictions exist." I wouldn't have...
