One law for the rich etc

He only did what half the country have been doing for years. I can think of at least 10 people I have known who have point swapped over the years, mums, dads and teens. Makes no difference to anyone other that the person about to lose his or her licence along with his job and ability to...

    KTM Macina Cross going cheap.

Well, I justify any e-bike expenses in two ways. I replace many car journeys, particularly trips to works and back. Save around £100 in petrol every 4 weeks. Secondly, E-biking along with regular cycling has given me a renewed into keeping fit and active. Cannot put a cost on being a...

    KTM Macina Cross going cheap.

Is £500 a lot for a battery. I filled a works van up Friday, £140 may last a week if I am lucky.

Yes, a totally ridiculous situation. The Germans have it spot on and the rest of the EU governments have taken a ridiculous stance. As a matter of fact, I think the Germans have a lot of things spot on but that's another story.

I understand that, I was just making the point in my own way. If everything was above board, 50 cycles should be only too happy to register on behalf of any purchaser. The fact that they do not offer this service suggests that they know it would be an impossible task for any customer. This...

Perhaps the easiest solution is for 50 Cycles to register the bike with DVLA prior to the customer picking it up. Much the same as you would expect from a dealer when purchasing a new car. That way, there could be no question over the lack of registration.

I agree, the dealer should clearly advertise these cycles with all the facts. I can also see why there have been no DVLA registrations. People would register if it were made possible but is seems that it would be next to impossible. So the upshot is, if you would like one to use on UK roads...

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

I see no difference. Call it what you want, at the end of the day you sit on it and it moves you along the road. One with a little pedal assistance but the net result is the same, you get somewhere with motorised assistance. A lot of people on this forum insist that an S Class is in fact a...

You can however purchase a Non Road Legal KTM motocross bike. Use it off road or add indicators and register for road use. What's the difference? Sounds like a load of Bull when it comes to S Class Bikes. Whist we are on it, one can be subject to massive legal costs crashing a normal...

Plenty on uninsured and illegal cars on the road but I don't see any signs that the authorities will penalise legal drivers.

    Class as a cut up?

Martin If this is the first time this has happened to you, you're lucky. Common practice by few inconsiderate drivers. In my earlier cycling days, a friend of mine used Coca Cola as his way of reminding the driver not to do it again. If at all possible, he'd catch them up and get...

Yet another female cyclist death in London

It's called defensive riding and it can cause verbal abuse and carve ups from some of the less intelligent or angry motorists a times. Do I care? No. It’s an essential tool for staying alive on the roads. Unfortunately some cyclists seem to think their place is in the gutter. I still...

Yet another female cyclist death in London

Flecc, the fact remains that this topic has been talked about again and again and we still have people being killed. Years ago, artic trailers were fitted with steel bars to prevent a car entering the space beneath in the event of an accident. It would be a simple matter to install small...

Yet another female cyclist death in London

My car beeps at me if I am going to reverse over a daffodil. Why the hell can't these vehicles be fitted with a device that activates on turning left. If something is in the blind spot, brakes come on instantly. So simple its not true. How many more deaths before someone in power develops big...

Tag along cycle offroad with KTM

Such a lovely day on Sunday, thought I'd try our newish tag along bike on the back of my KTM Macina 29. The idea being to introduce my 4.5 yr old daughter to offroad riding. I was interested in her response and I was keen to see how the KTM pulled with the additonal drag. Well, what can I say...

Flecc Take your view onboard but like I say, I was born free. It has been the powers that be that have taken any freedom away. If they choose to grant some freedom, then it only because they had taken it away in the first place.

Well, whoopie doo!! been given??? I am so grateful that someone, somewhere has decided that it is their right to give me this freedom. As far as I am concerned I was born free. It is a case that any freedom and so called rights are fast being eroded by these good for absolutely...
