    Cadence with age

Thanks to everyone for the replies. Seems that my mate may be correct. Oldtoms "the fight is futile" you are obviously right but I'll keep fighting as age increases. Flecc seems to be proof that life goes on despite bodily abuse and as an ex heavy smoker I am encouraged his comments. Well my...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

th Thanks for the reply Eddie The BT looks pretty good and not costing a fortune. I have a couple of decent small backup lights so one BT would do the trick. I'll read some online reviews over the next day or two and maybe take up you offer to try yours one evening. Or maybe I'll just order...

    Cadence with age

10 year ago I found a cadence of 120-125 easily acheiveable. Now at the age of 52, I can't get past 105 rpm. 80-95 being usual and comfortable. When mtb'ing on non electric bikes a good sprint with loads of leg revs is handy. A mate of mine seems to thing that its down to my age and that I...

    Handlebar height

I generally set my mtb bar around 20mm lower than saddle height. Suits my style of riding. Higher bars are more suited to commuting and pottering. Problem with higher bars is that more body weight is transferred to ones ass. This in itself can produce even more discomfort than weight on the wrists.

    Nuts always getting loose

cwah You could always make yourself a custom tab washer and lock the nut off to the flat on the shaft or nearby bit of frame.

    Eyewear for Cyclists

£190 a pair. Whats the unprecedented control of light transmission they talk about? My De Walts just make the world look darker when i put them on.

    Eyewear for Cyclists

I use De Walt or similar safety glasses. Usually have a few pairs in my van. At less than £5.00 they can be replaced as needed.

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Eddie, yes that would be us. Good day but if recall we missed the pink route sign that is very clearly shown in the video. Can't make a Saturday ride myself but look forward to catching up on a future event with you. I see you've swapped to flat pedals so must be muddy up your way. I'm keeping...

    Helmets @ Aldi

Flecc I'd be interested to know if you were to take up mountain biking tomorrow, would you choose to wear a helmet? Of course, I am not suggesting that you do anything of the sort at your time of life.

A salutary and life changing event for both parties

Tom lets not forget that anyone can claim from you if they trip over your shopping bag at a bus stop. Where does it all end?

A salutary and life changing event for both parties

My own insurance policy covers public liability when using regular cycles along with any legal pedelec. Obviously they are not going to insure illegal machines. As you say, a rider leaves himself open when riding an illegal machine. He's also left himself open if riding a legal bike without...

A salutary and life changing event for both parties

People crash their cars everyday whilst over the speed limit. Illegal driving and yet the insurance companies pay out. How does that work? You are however right, an illegal pedelec may introduce an additional dimension to any case. If you need a few extra quid, just run over a dog. There's...

Why does a Pedelec cut out at 15.5mph?

One has to ask why so many riders wish to have a higher cut off. Could it be that the current level is somehow inadaquate. Lets have a discussion and have it raised to meet users needs and not dismiss out of hand. If we need hot water then lets have some. As for the origin of any...

Why does a Pedelec cut out at 15.5mph?

Why not get a moped full stop. Whats the point of a pedelec? Just a waste of copped windings. Come on Mike, have a bit of forward vision. With your thinking we'll be burning the oil till the lights go out.
