Bosch underslung MTB cleaning out the crud

Flecc I agree, it does seem that the internals were not well sealed in this instance. I'd like to think that this is not the case with every unit out there.

Bosch underslung MTB cleaning out the crud

It was my KTM, unfortunately stolen. Never did take it apart despite doing many muddy and wet off road rides. The motor had been underwater many times and did not seem to complain. This leads me to believe that it was sealed electrically and mechanically. Martin suggests a little mud in the...

Bosch underslung MTB cleaning out the crud

Is the casing not just for aesthetic? I'd had mine fully immersed on several occassions, had the gears not been sealed, I am sure they box would have failed.

Legality of having a switch to meet 250w regulations

Dave Does more controller, motor current not = more watts, hence more power and more speed? If the above is not true I'd appreciate a quick explanation, if there is one. Many thanks

    "Cheating"

Nothing wrong with a bit of light banter. I just like to put the word out, Brighton has a lot to offer for everyone.

    "Cheating"

Hi Eddie Nope, never watched or taken part in Big Dog, had some mtb mates years ago, think they took part. Stanmer Park, I believe. Not into racing myself, spend my working days competing hard for business. Come leisure time, I can go at a pretty reasonable pace when I choose. Mostly I ride...

Electric Bikes. My Learning curve part 2

Lets not forget, they could also fine the users and make some money at the some time as crushing. Alternatively, they could ask themselves why these bikes are on the road in the first place. Hmm!, maybe they are serving a useful purpose. Personally, I hope 50 cycles sell a huge shed load of...

Electric Bikes. My Learning curve part 2

Does seem a bit odd they they fail to mention the legal aspect. I guess that they are working on the theory that just about everyone that buys one is more than happy with it. By the time the government realise that the country is full of very purposeful but illegal ebikes it will be too late...

How long should my ebike chain last?

I have never owned a chain checker, is it really necessary? I have always lubed with hypoid gear oil, does the job and cheap too. Checked for wear by pulling the chain away from the front sprocket. Too much air, time to replace.

    Chopper bike to carry passenger?

The court fined him £100 for the offence of carrying a passenger, and ordered him to pay court costs of £85 and a “victim surcharge” of £15. I'd chuck the kids in the car and light a cigarette. Mad, there a local guy, cycles his kid to and fro to school. The two kids sit on what looks like a...

How long should my ebike chain last?

Flecc you are right, not popular. Yes they do make wheel removal more difficult but by clever design this could be made easier. I believe it is more to do with fashion and street cred. Honda knew something about chain life when they designed the C90. Sure it wasn't cool but it was very good...
