    Brexit, for once some facts.

Rule or manage by consent? Might work but I have my doubts, but that can obviously be put down to my own background. I've never subscribed to talking shops - they never seem to get anything done.

There's something in what you say, the problem is essentially that they (HOP) have far less influence than their predecessors had. Yet they have all the trappings of power and it would seem the belief that makes them attractive... We all know what happens in such situations, idle minds and all...

Let me take my previous comment back - here's a first. I agree totally. AS an OAP probably an element of self-interest as I'm obviously in the firing line.

As smart a comment as I've ever read on here. When I think about the positions taken on this thread and then those on the Fascism returns to Spain one with a mix of what happens up here whenever INDYRef2 comes up that would just about cancel everything out - other than blaming the Tories of...

The "death" of the car, (as we know it)

Only disagree in the sense that charging times are reducing dramatically, as range increases.

EV's have the edge there of course, at least double that of ICV, far easier and cheaper to maintain. Plus, ideally suited to lot's of short journeys.

Not quite, some might call it plagiarism. I, along with most Conservatives realise that whilst we might not be as smart, there is another way. Listen, watch and learn. Bit difficult at this moment in time to claim that we have learnt from others mistakes albeit they all seem to be in same place.

OK we haven't made savings on actual journeys - we have just made savings on the number of 'taxis' and private cars needed to deliver those journeys.

    They too, of course.

Not sure how you work that, perhaps I misunderstand? Agree that there would a saving in parking spaces but there is much more potential for efficiencies with the likes of Uber than that. Far more than to just consider the vehicle itself. We already have the Uber driver being 60% engaged, let's...

    Laser Bike Lane

Like to ride your bike in the night? This invention was designed for the safety-conscious. Super-bright, longer-lasting LEDs lights provide a bike lane that will go some way to tackling two serious causes of cycling fatalities – being caught in the blind spot, or vehicles turning across an...

Try this one - far more balanced Conservative MP Bob Stewart - a former Army colonel - described Mr Williamson as a "decent, calm man... he's also a very thoughtful man". "He won't know much about defence but I believe the civil service in the Ministry of Defence, the generals and the Armed...

Glad someone appreciated it - thank you! Could be the basis for the levels of Human Intelligence that you seek, before we have the Forum run by robots?

Come on Steb, surely you have been reading the posts of OG / Oldtom? Oldtom does exactly that all day - with insults to boot.

Not sure that the people doing the research would see it that way but, no doubt they're wasting their time and getting paid for it.

Scotland has done away with coal and rejected fracking. Gone big and getting even bigger on wind turbines, lots of research into tethered wave power and there's always oil... No matter how much it costs! That's the political element and tool needed to bash UK Government whoever IndiRef2 comes along.

Hurts somewhat but, I have to agree those figures don't inspire much confidence in Europe becoming self sufficient in solar energy anytime soon. Germany is way ahead and has more or less flat-lined from what I can see. To go back to that presentation the Tucson AZ Utility Company example of a...
