    EU ICE ban postponed indefinetly.

Can't believe not more has been made of this, in here to some extent, but more so on media in general. Read it early this morning on FT notifications. Not seen it anywhere else. It's massive, unless FT have got it wrong??

    Not working on high mode

Just a thought... Try your speed sensor connections.. (if it has any?) Had a similar issue on my ebike. Bike would work perfectly for 15 seconds or so, then give nothing. Unplugged speed sensor (at motor, was a pain to get to) WD 40 on terminals, good clean, adjusted magnet alignment and worked...

    E st100 rockrider

It's not just legislation. Maintaining 20 mph via motor consumes disproportionate amount of power. Few years ago I experimented with a dongle (fits on speed sensor, to reduce frequency of speed pulses, ie bike thinks its going slower) Without it, I, d try and stick at 15.5 mph, drop lower, power...

    EU ICE ban postponed indefinetly.

What's going on? Where does it leave our proposed ban? What about JLR stopping ICE production 2025?? Reasoning explained here. https://www.euractiv.com/section/politics/opinion/why-the-2035-combustion-engine-ban-is-the-wrong-way-to-go/

The flatpack EV: how Luvly is aiming to revolutionise the micro-EV market

We, re just back from Cyprus. Hired car for a few days but realised for £1.50 we could do 7 mile journey by bus.. Stand up paddle board/pump /paddle all in holdhall. Worked fine. Always on time, plenty of room. No hassle.

The flatpack EV: how Luvly is aiming to revolutionise the micro-EV market

As normal, good points well made.. The keeping on top of charging, whilst at Lidl etc is fair enough, but hardly strategic. I, d have thought most folk visiting Lidl have come from very close by, same for Supermarkets etc. They could, should really charge at home. (for economy and logistics of...

The flatpack EV: how Luvly is aiming to revolutionise the micro-EV market

I agree, re low current chargers. Utterly pointless and were to start with. So discount all sub 20kwh chargers and then recount your claim of masses of them available. Then rather than count the chargers examine the mileage dispensed by them. We hear all the time about garages closing and...

The flatpack EV: how Luvly is aiming to revolutionise the micro-EV market

At the moment we are in situation akin to building electrical railways, we, ve built the lines but we'll put the power in when trains arrive..(and make a profit from them) We should already be at juncture where its feasible and desireable for such as myself to go electric. Sadly, because we...

The flatpack EV: how Luvly is aiming to revolutionise the micro-EV market

It's where I usually fill up. It's between Sheffield and Brid. Would be a perfect place for a fast charger. Think I, ll buy a generator, stick it on trailer and start selling electricity. At prices being charged there is money to ve made with a mobile charging outfit. But, I deleted it. But...

The flatpack EV: how Luvly is aiming to revolutionise the micro-EV market

Flecc We will never arrive at sufficient charge points in all areas relying on profit to drive their distribution. Even charging exorbitant prices a charging point makes £50 per hour.?? (guess) A petrol pump around £1000 per hour? Whilstever country relies on market forces to fit, run...

The flatpack EV: how Luvly is aiming to revolutionise the micro-EV market

Sorry Flecc, you are very much missing the point. Whem motoring was in its infancy motorists could, even then, take measures to make sure they stood a great chance of getting home. Have a sound knowledge of mechanics involved, ability to repair puncture, or change a wheel and carry a few spare...

The flatpack EV: how Luvly is aiming to revolutionise the micro-EV market

You really are missing the point flecc. We don't need charging stations in 2035 we need them now. Many people are already perfect customers for changing to EV, they should be the pioneers demonstrating the proposed system will work. My mate with the van is perfect example. Just retired, still...

    Legal Pitfalls

At end of day it's entirely upto you. Even the RCDs I was working under were directives and at time (around 2001) it was a new scheme and builders could self certify (even putting on their own CE numbers) but that was for only a grace period. Trying to establish a firm and selling boats with...

The flatpack EV: how Luvly is aiming to revolutionise the micro-EV market

Couldn't agree more. And in mean time the inevitable progression towards EV over next decade is going to be fraught and full of stories such as these. Gatwick Airport must have thousands and thousands of parked cars and how many serviceable fast chargers on site or nearby? There is no planning...

The flatpack EV: how Luvly is aiming to revolutionise the micro-EV market

It's nothing to do with total amounts of electricity (at the moment).. Open your eyes Flecc. There are massive issues with our infrastructure regarding charging stations, well lack of and maintenance. So much so that they are now affecting EV sales and second handf values. Government need to...

    Legal Pitfalls

If you are fitting in your own boat (or a second hand one) I don't think RCDs (recreation craft directives) are enforceable.(or pertinent) At time I was fitting out and selling new boats. You will only have to pass your boat safety inspection (which I, d assumed by now would be at similar...

That looks more the part.. Mini electric Unimog. I, d have one.. Sounds fantastic.. Well the write up does. Guess truck is silent. Gordon Murray has designed some great cars.Worked for McClaren and had a massive input on their road cars.

Pedestrian causing cyclist death gets 3 years prison

Oh, that clarifies it now Flecc. If we agree with your view it's OK to comment, but otherwise we shouldn't. As many have said, this is a particularly tragic case for all involved. Personally, I don't believe a custodial sentence is either necessary or helpful but I can also sympathise with the...
