One of my customers has an Argos E+ 700c wheeled folder. The battery holder fell apart less than a year old. Its now set in her garden gathering rust. BTW. She now has a 10 year old Wisper 905 still on its original battery which she loves!

That is almost certainly a Kingmeter display.(Read old!) Best replace both display and controller with something morden. Brainpower do a reasonably priced combination with the excellent S866 LCD display for less than 50 noteworthy

Those Brainpower controllers usually 24/36V and 36/48V

Presumably your bike has a throttle as well as pedal assist? And out of interest, what controller did you purchase? Its just that I had a few bikes with similar torque sensors and it took a while to suss out a solution!

Would like to add,we imported some noname Chinese ebikes back in 2006 and most of them I subsequently encounter are to this day still on their original Lipo batteries.

Im sorry,but a rechargeable battery unless severely abused and used for a purpose it wasn't originally intended for should last longer than 18 months regardless how its charged and discharged in my book.

I would say dodgy battery. Given bike is just over a year old?...make a bee line back to whoever sold it to you...not fit for purpose frankly.

I'm not so sure its as easy as you make it out Nealth! Unless of of course you got a complete conversion kit.And where can you get these? On my bike its mounted on the back wheel with what looks like magnets epoxy glued in a housing with a sensor attached!

Do yourself a favour with this bike mate.DIY! Lestwise it will cost you a pretty penny getting an e bike shop to sort it out for you. And dont waste your money on SLA batteries advertised as specificaly for electric bikes.You can get 12Ah slas for about a tenner a pop if you shop around on...

How about finding out from the manufacturers what exactly error code 30 signifies?.Suspect it also has a test mode?Once had a really old Powerbike and it had built in diagnostics ..accessed by holding the throttle fully open while switching it on and then stepping through a menu that tested...

Assume the battery to need replacing and factor in the price of a replacement in the selling price!
