    Ridiculous battery prices

When we're talking of production costs you have to remember China are churning Lithium cells out in their billions these days. They have fully automated machinery with raw materials going in one end and batteries coming out the other, they look like gigantic ovens. I've no idea what it cost them...

Carrera Crosscity Electric Bike Vs B'TWIN Tilt 500 Folding Electric Bike

I guess that's the big advantage of buying from a local store, you get to try the bike out first. But then you pay top dollar for that privilege.

Carrera Crosscity Electric Bike Vs B'TWIN Tilt 500 Folding Electric Bike

Ah good, I just wanted to make sure you picked the right one that suits your needs. Surprisingly enough they sell the same models in the states for much more so the prices are a bargain .

Carrera Crosscity Electric Bike Vs B'TWIN Tilt 500 Folding Electric Bike

Just curious...was it the store in Burnham On Crouch in Essex ? if so it must be the earlier version Seago folder you purchased. That one is in fact a little cheaper than the Seago Lite which is the bike I have. I don't think that one has the LCD display that you can mess with, I'm guessing...

Carrera Crosscity Electric Bike Vs B'TWIN Tilt 500 Folding Electric Bike

It's got a LG battery hidden away inside easy enough to buy whenever the need arises. No magnets on the frame though, I suppose you could always fix one on the bike somewhere if need be. It's certainly a well made machine I must say, and I've owned dozens of bikes (non-e) over the years. A lot...

Carrera Crosscity Electric Bike Vs B'TWIN Tilt 500 Folding Electric Bike

Have a look at the Seago Lite not the old version the latest one with the curved frame same as the Carrera. If it's front suspension you're looking for the Seago has it already, disc brakes front and back as well as an Lcd display you can tweak up a bit. Frankly it blows the other two mentioned...

    Anti-mugging lock?

Thumbs up for those Alarm/lights, I have one and like Andy-Mat I too have fitted it under the saddle. They make a hell of a racket when disturbed and I particularly like the way they give a short blast as a warning shot if your bike gets nudged by accident, followed by a longer noise if some one...

    Throttle Recommends ?

Yeah..I've heard about people with full throttles leaning their bikes on a wall and having it shoot up the road on it's own!. I'd go for a half twist throttle, I think if I used a thumb type rigor might set in if I'm not careful. Good to know any three wire would work, I did wonder if there...

    Throttle Recommends ?

I'm looking at changing my LCD & Controller later in the year to a KT/LCD3 setup to get the option of throttle control which I now lack. I'd much prefer a twist throttle rather than thumb push, anything recommended to work well with that combo ?

    PSW Power

I had a few hiccups, things not turning up or they would send the wrong thing. In the end it all got a bit much but I did get some amazing deals though sometimes. If you get to know the sellers on a more personal level you can get even bigger discounts. I'd be up all night sometimes sending...

    PSW Power

Like I mentioned on an earlier thread I used to buy stuff often from Chinese sites and did very well out of it I can tell you. I would buy watches by the box load for 50p each and sell them for £5 or £10 a throw...happy days. What always bugged me was the wait, could be up to a month sometimes...

    PSW Power

I'm considering placing an order with PSWPOWER and looking at their website it's obviously very US orientated. What's the favoured choice when it comes to shipping? there's quite a list of methods and I'm wondering what most people would recommend.

Should be clear, that not the business you were linking to Wheelie.

I hope the 2 grand they're asking for E-Bike batteries on ebay is a typo.

Looks like a kilt could be the answer then. But what about when the wind blows high.....:)

    Basic Sans charger mods/adjustments.

I like the idea of those small meters that will allow you to keep an eye on what's going on. I have a fancy charging device for all of my camera batteries that has an LCD readout similar to those displays and it's really useful. I'd be minded to build it straight into the charger case and hard...

    Basic Sans charger mods/adjustments.

I too would agree with vfr400 & wheeliepete, good advice here. Going back to the OP of this thread, the charger Nealh was using to demonstrate his methodology is fairly generic, I have the same one with a different brand name. It seems the real key to achieving the 'perfect charge' is to know...

    Basic Sans charger mods/adjustments.

As I see it there are several problems with battery tests. As you say test are usually carried out on individual cells only and not as a complete rechargeable power unit. Then there's manufacturers brand, who makes what for whom? I have a Panasonic battery in my bike, well it's supposed to be...

    Basic Sans charger mods/adjustments.

For the most part I would agree you but would take issue with you on one thing. I'd suggest we do know how many factors affect battery life and their significance. I haven't read every thread that exists on these forums, but I can take you word for it that know one has carried out a full and...

    Basic Sans charger mods/adjustments.

Swizzbee...that name reminds me of a fizzy lollipop I used to suck on as a kid. Nice bikes though, neat is the word I would use to describe them. Everything's there but tucked away...early stealth nice.
