Sorry folks - another newbie looking for some guidance !

All men should live in the lounge. Heck, and the women too for that matter. Pleased you've got the bike PP! Riding is so much more fun than choosing.

Bike up for replacement. Any recommendations

Agreed - 8.8AH should do that journey. But lifespan may be reduced. For clarity, you should still expect 3 years of use.

Bike up for replacement. Any recommendations

I wouldn't think 8.8AH will do the job (23 miles). You'd likely be using up the whole capacity every day, way over the 50% we would advise to preserve battery longevity. So if the battery and you together did do the journey it's likely the battery wouldn't last as long as it should. Wilco in...

    Suitability

The larger the wheel the more stable the ride, in general. The smaller wheels of 20" or less can be quite twitchy, and tend to stop (ever so temporarily) at bumps larger wheels glide over. If your wife is on the short side then maybe a 24" wheeled bike might be an improvement for her. I don't...

    Have I missed anything?

Hi Paul It's great Lancslass has found a bike she really enjoys but it's important you do as she did: take the trouble to actually ride any bike you're thinking of buying. For the retailer this is important too. Nobody wants to sell anything that doesn't suit the rider. Most of the real value...

Sorry folks - another newbie looking for some guidance !

You'll get a lot of information from your first few rides PP and you're doing exactly the right thing by trying a number of different makes and types. Hope you enjoy the process (I'm certain you will).

    Hi Paul From Bournemouth

Closest I can suggest is Bike Centre Ltd Unit 3, St John's Centre, Botley Road North Baddesley SO52 9SW 02380 740 079 Or further, but with a bigger range E-MOTION in Swindon or you could take a look at our test ride map for Juicy Bike stockists, many of which stock a good variety of bike brands.

    Hi Paul From Bournemouth

Hi Paul I'm afraid, being a Trade Member I can only offer you my biased advice! But I welcome you to the forums and strongly suggest you take a test ride of whichever style of bike you think you may be happy riding. After that first ride you'll have plenty of questions that should point you...

    Overwhelmed

Oh dear! As soon as you can go and try some bikes at a specialist shop with a good range. As soon as you find a bike you like and can afford then your decision's made. The sooner the better... Good luck.

Is global warming the con of the century?

By all measures we are, each of us, tiny and irrelevant. Looking at the stars at night we are right to feel equals only to a molecule of space dust. Compared to our sun we are totally insignificant. Stood next to a glacier, river or flooded street, miniscule and highly vulnerable. Stepping...

1-1-2016 Today's Change in the Law.

Seems to me you're doing exactly the right thing - you're recording evidence that may be called upon if your customer should ever be in a situation, say following an accident, that requires them to show they were riding a legal bike. Well worth the extra vigilance, though hopefully never to be used.

Yes. Not ideal. I guess it will all resolve. Please don't shoot the messenger.

We keep a record of frame numbers as they arrive in the UK and have an audit trail back through the system for quality control. If you dont have a record of frame numbers then Iˋm not sure how you would otherwise prove the landing date. Keeping a close track has had many benefits and now means...

Yep. EN15194 gives a distance limit on motor overun after the pedals have stopped being turned. On a responsive system there is no requirement for brake cut offs. You can look it up or ask BAGB Tech support (a copy of EN15194 costs more than a few quid !).

As you slow down using the brakes all power is cut to the motor. So pedaling in order to change gear shouldn't be a problem Pauline. I'm sure it will become second nature. Though brake cut-offs aren't fitted to all electric bikes we think they are a useful feature. We could save some pounds...

Getting a fatty up that hill

Hi DK You'd be very welcome to have a test ride at any of our electric bike retailers dotted around the country. If you can get over to the Peak District (Buxton or New Mills) you could try on some decent hills too. Buying without trying can be a serious mistake as all bikes are not the same.

Old, fat, and a bit infirm - which leccy bike should I get?

Have a look at our test ride page on our website. We do have a stockist near you. Only you will know if an e-bike will do the job you have in mind, after a test ride.

Old, fat, and a bit infirm - which leccy bike should I get?

Creo, you should go and try some bikes in a hilly place. We've adapted bikes to suit amputees so your issue can be overcome. Where are you ?

Seeking a budget bike for a hilly commute

45 minutes for 10 miles in the Peak District is realistic for a daily commute Danny. You'd be welcome to take a test ride on any of the Juicy range. Our New Mills workshop opens again on Tuesday.
